«Պատմության մեջ, համենայնդեպս, ինձ հայտնի չէ զինակցի դավաճանություն, որ չավարտվի հայրենիքի դավաճանությամբ»,- մի առիթով ասել էր Վանո Սիրադեղյանը։ Ու կարծես այս տողերը հատուկ գրած լինի Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի մասին։

Եկեղեցի-իշխանություն հակամարտությունը գնալով սրվում է, և հունիսի 7-ին, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանն այցելել էր Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածին և առանձնազրույց ունեցել Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի հետ։ Ըստ Մայր Աթոռի, զրույցի ընթացքում նախագահն իր լիակատար աջակցությունն է հայտնել Վեհափառ Հայրապետին, միաժամանակ խստիվ դատապարտելով Հայոց 1700-ամյա Եկեղեցու նկատմամբ ՀՀ իշխանությունների հակասահմանադրական ոտնձգությունը։

Առաջին նախագահի այցը գազազեցրել էր Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին։ «Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում ընտրությունների կեղծման պրակտիկայի հիմնադիրն է և նա իհարկե պիտի կանգնի իր նման ժողովրդատյաց կեղծարարի ու կեղծիքի կողքին»,-գրել էր նա, իսկ ՔՊ-ական գեթե ողջ ակտիվին, մեկ կետից հրահանգավորելով, քսի էին տվել Տեր-Պետրոսյանի դեմ։

Ուրացման դրվագները որքան գարշելի, այնքան էլ անամոթ էին, քանի որ թե՛ Փաշինյանը, թե՛ վայրահաչողների մի զգալի մասը երկար տարիներ հենց Առաջին նախագահի զինակիցն են եղել։ Փաշինյանին, իհարկե, չեն հուզում պարզ հարցերը՝ «եթե Տեր-Պետրոսյանը ընտրակեղծարար է, ինչպե՞ս է ժամանակին ինքը կանգնել նրա կողքին, եղել Առաջին նախագահի նախաձեռնած շարժման առանցքային դեմքերից մեկը»։ Այսրոպեական իր վրեժը հանելու, քաղաքական խարդավանքները հրապարակայնացնելու մոլոցուքով տառապելով՝ Փաշինյանը պատրաստ է թքել նույնիսկ սեփական կենսագրության մեջ։ Նույն այն Փաշինյանը ով մի առիթով ասել էր՝ «Առաջին նախագահը մի ահավոր, շատ վատ խասյաթ ունի՝ ինքը վերջում միշտ ճիշտ է դուրս գալիս»:

Տեր-Պետրոսյանն, իհարկե, սուրբ չէ, բայց և հաստատապես նիկոլփաշինյան չէ, իսկ Մայր Աթոռ նրա այցը պետականամետության ու պետական մտածելակերպի կարևոր դրսևորում է, մի բան, որից զուրկ են Փաշինյանն ու իր խունտան։
