Վերջին երեք օրերի ընթացքում Հնդկաստանի հյուսիսարևելյան Ասամի, Մանիպուրի, Տրիպուրայի, Սիկկիմի, Արունաչալ Պրադեշի և այլ նահանգներում տեղի ունեցած ջրհեղեղների և սողանքների հետևանքով զոհվել է առնվազն 34 մարդ։ «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտնում է հնդկական New Delhi TV-ն։

Պաշտոնյաների խոսքով՝ բազմաթիվ վարչություններ զբաղվում են օգնություն ցուցաբերելով և փրկարարական աշխատանքներ իրականացնելով՝ օգտագործելով տարբեր միջոցներ, այդ թվում՝ Հնդկաստանի ռազմաօդային ուժերի ուղղաթիռ ու նավակներ։

ANI գործակալության տեղեկացմամբ՝ որոշ շրջաններում Բրահմապուտրա գետը հոսում է վտանգավոր նշագծից ավելի բարձր մակարդակի վրա։ Տրիպուրայի նահանգում տեղի ունեցած ջրհեղեղներից տուժել է ավելի քան 10 000 մարդ, իսկ Մեգհալայայում տուժել է 10 շրջան։

Տեղեկություններ են հաղորդվել նաև այն մասին, որ Ասամի նահանգում 19 շրջանի 764 գյուղ տուժել են հեղեղումների հետևանքով։ Ընդհանուր առմամբ, տուժած բնակիչների թիվը կազմել է 360 000։

Reuters-ի տեղեկացմամբ՝ Հնդկաստանի օդերևութաբանական ծառայությունը կանխատեսել է ավելի հորդ անձրևներ։

Հնդկաստանի կառավարության հայտարարության մեջ նշվել է, որ Հիմալայների Սիկկիմի նահանգում արգելափակված ավելի քան հազար զբոսաշրջիկներ հունիսի 2-ին տարհանվել են, իսկ Մեգհալայայի նահանգում բանակային փրկարարական խմբեր են գործի դրվել՝ ջրհեղեղի գոտիներում մնացած ավելի քան 500 մարդու փրկելու համար։

Հնդկաստանի հյուսիս-արևելքում և Բանգլադեշում հաճախ են տեղի ունենում տեղատարափ անձրևներ, որոնք առաջացնում են սողանքներ և հեղեղումներ՝ բացասաբար ազդելով միլիոնավոր մարդկանց վրա։
