Արևելաքրիստոնեական գեղարվեստական մշակույթի պատմաբան, բյուզանդական պատկերագրության և պատմության մասնագետ, Ռուսաստանի արվեստի ակադեմիայի ակադեմիկոս Ալեքսեյ Լիդովը մահացել է 66 տարեկան հասակում, հայտնում է ակադեմիայի կայքը։
Ալեքսեյ Լիդովը ծնվել է 1959 թվականի մարտի 9-ին Մոսկվայում և ավարտել է Մոսկվայի պետական համալսարանի արվեստի պատմության և տեսության ֆակուլտետը՝ մասնագիտանալով բյուզանդական արվեստի պատմության մեջ։ 1991 թվականին նա հիմնադրել և ղեկավարել է Արևելաքրիստոնեական մշակույթի գիտական կենտրոնը, աշխատել է որպես գիտության գծով փոխտնօրեն և Հին մշակույթի ամբիոնի վարիչ Մոսկվայի պետական համալսարանին առընթեր Համաշխարհային մշակույթի ինստիտուտում։
Լիդովը ռուսերեն, անգլերեն, ֆրանսերեն, իտալերեն, իսպաներեն և հունարեն հրատարակված 30 գրքի և ավելի քան 100 գիտական հոդվածների հեղինակ և կազմող էր։ 1991-ին հրատարակված նրա առաջին անգլերեն՝ The Mural Paintings of Akhtala մենագրությունը նվիրված էր Հայաստանի Ախթալայի վանքի որմնանկարներին։ Լիդովը համադրել է խոշոր ցուցահանդեսներ, դրանց թվում՝ «Քրիստոսի անձեռակերտ պատկերը ռուսական սրբապատկերներում», «Աթոս լեռ։ Սուրբ Երկրի պատկերները և քրիստոնեական մասունքները Մոսկվայի Կրեմլում»։
Ակադեմիկոս Լիդովը մշակել է հիերոտոպիայի տեսությունը՝ սրբազան տարածությունների հետազոտությունը որպես հոգևոր և գեղարվեստական ստեղծագործության ձև։ Նա ներկայացրել է ռուսական արվեստի պատմությունը միջազգային կոնգրեսներում, եղել է Օքսֆորդի համալսարանին առընթեր Սուրբ Կատարինե քոլեջի ցմահ անդամ և դասավանդել է աշխարհի առաջատար համալսարաններում, մասնավորապես՝ Քեմբրիջի, Փրինսթոնի, Հարվարդի համալսարաններում, Կուրտոյի ինստիտուտում, Հռոմի և Տոկիոյի համալսարաններում և Սորբոնում։
Պատմաբանի մահվան պատճառը չի նշվում։ Լիդովի վերջին հրաժեշտը տեղի կունենա կիրակի՝ հունիսի 1-ին, Տոլմաչիի Սուրբ Նիկողայոս եկեղեցում։
