newizv.ru–ն «Ազգային շահերն ընդդեմ «մաքուր աղմուկի»» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ վերջին տարիներին Մոսկվայի և Երևանի միջև հարաբերությունները բավականին երկիմաստ են։ Իշխանության գալուց հետո Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը որդեգրել է Ռուսաստանի հետ կապերը խզելու և Միացյալ Նահանգների ու ԵՄ երկրների հետ մերձենալու ուղի, չնայած վերջերս Ռուսաստանի արտաքին գործերի նախարարության ղեկավարն է երկօրյա աշխատանքային այցով եղել Երևանում։ Չնայած երկու երկրների կառավարությունների միջև բազմաթիվ տարաձայնություններին, Մոսկվան և Երևանն ունեն նաև բազմաթիվ շփման կետեր, որոնք ուշադրության կարիք ունեն։ Այդ մասին հիշեցրել է ռուս լրագրող, գրող, հեռուստահաղորդավար Արմեն Գասպարյանը։

«Չնայած Հայաստանի ներկայիս կառավարության բոլոր ջանքերին և անընդհատ փորձերին, որոնք, իմ կարծիքով, արտաքին ճակատում լիովին արդյունավետ չեն Ռուսաստանին ինչ-որ կերպ նյարդայնացնելու համար, Հայաստանը դեռևս մնում է Մաքսային միության կազմում։ Եվ մենք այնտեղ ռազմաբազա ունենք՝ Շիրակում։ Եվ, իհարկե, երկու երկրների միջև այսօր գոյություն ունեցող խնդիրները պետք է լուծվեն և առաջ մղվեն», - վստահություն է հայտնել նա։

Իրոք, Մոսկվային չարացնելու նպատակով Փաշինյանի կառավարությունը փորձում է զարգացնել համագործակցությունը Վաշինգտոնի և Փարիզի հետ, չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ այդ քաղաքականությունն արդեն իսկ զգալի վնաս է հասցրել հայ հասարակությանը և պետությանը։ Ընդ որում, Երևանը մտադիր չէ հրաժարվել դրանից։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, չնայած Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերություններում առկա բոլոր դժվարություններին, Հայաստանը շարունակում է մնալ Մոսկվայի հովանու ներքո գործող մի շարք միջպետական միավորումների անդամ։ Նախևառաջ խոսքը ԱՊՀ-ի, ԵԱՏՄ-ի և ՀԱՊԿ-ի մասին է, որոնցից Երևանը, չնայած իր բոլոր բարձրաձայն հայտարարություններին, չի շտապում հեռանալ։ Հետևաբար, ինչպես նշել է Գասպարյանը, «այստեղ խնդիրը բացառապես Հայաստանի քաղաքական ղեկավարության հակաարդյունավետ դիրքորոշումն է»։
