Մայիսի 21-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունեց Եվրոպական Միության Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի դեսպանների տարածաշրջանային սեմինարի մասնակիցներին:

Հանդիպմանը ՀՀ-ում Եվրոպական Միության պատվիրակության ղեկավար, ԵՄ դեսպան Վասիլիս Մարագոսը Նորին Սրբությանը ներկայացրեց ԵՄ դեսպաններին՝ ընդհանուր տեղեկություններ փոխանցելով հավաքի վերաբերյալ։

Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետը, ողջունելով դեսպանների տարածաշրջանային սեմինարի մասնակիցների այցը համայն հայության հոգևոր կենտրոն, անդրադարձ կատարեց Հայոց Եկեղեցու առաքելությանը հայ ժողովրդի կյանքում։

Վեհափառ Հայրապետն իր խոսքում նշեց, որ դեսպանները թե՛ իրենց երկրներում, թե՛ ծառայության վայրերում վստահաբար առիթ ունեցել են շփվելու հայ համայնքների հետ, ծանոթանալու հայ ժողովրդի ազգային ավանդույթներին ու դավանած արժեքներին՝ հավելելով, որ սեմինարի անցկացումը Հայաստանում պիտի առիթ դառնա ավելի լավ ճանաչելու երկիրն ու նրա բազմադարյա ժառանգությունը, ինչպես և հաղորդ դառնալու Հայաստանում տիրող դժվարին կացությանը։

Նորին Սրբությունը նաև մտահոգությամբ անդրադարձավ հայ ժողովրդի առջև ծառացած անվտանգային մարտահրավերներին, Արցախի բռնազավթման, հայրենազրկված արցախահայության իրավունքների պաշտպանության և Ադրբեջանում մինչ օրս պահվող հայ գերիների վերադարձման խնդիրներին, ինչպես և Արցախի հայկական հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության ոչնչացման ու յուրացման փաստերին՝ ընդգծելով տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության ու կայունության վերականգնման անհրաժեշտությունը։ Նորին Սրբությունը կարևորեց ԵՄ երկրների ու կառույցների կողմից առավել գործուն քայլերի ձեռնարկումը Ադրբեջանի վարած հայատյաց քաղաքականության առնչությամբ։

Վերջում դեսպան Մարագոսը, շնորհակալություն հայտնելով Հայոց Հայրապետին ընդունելության համար, կարևոր նկատեց Հայ Եկեղեցու հետ երկխոսությունն ու գործակցությունը ՝ ի նպաստ հարատև և արդար խաղաղության հաստատման։
