Շաբաթվա սկզբին Երկրի վրա մագնիսական փոթորիկ սկսվեց։ Մայիսի 19-ին գեոմագնիսական ակտիվության մակարդակը ցատկեց մինչև «կարմիր» կետ։

IKI-ի և ISTP-ի Արեգակնային ակտիվության լաբորատորիայի գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ աստղի վրա իսկական լռություն է սկսվել։ Արեգակնային ակտիվության ինդեքսը գտնվում է «կանաչ» նշագծի վրա՝ 10-ից 1.8 միավոր: Վերջին 24 ժամվա ընթացքում գիտնականները գրանցել են միայն մեկ փոքր C դասի բռնկում:

Միևնույն ժամանակ, Երկիրը հայտնվել է արագ արեգակնային քամու հոսքի մեջ, որը դուրս էր գալիս Արեգակի հարավային կիսագնդի մեծ պսակային անցքից։ Գիտնականների կարծիքով՝ քամու արագությունը հասնում է 700-800 կմ/վրկ-ի, ինչը կրկնակի գերազանցում է նորմալ արժեքները։ Քամու արագությունը կսկսի նվազել միայն երեքշաբթի՝ մայիսի 20-ին։

Գիտնականների կանխատեսմամբ՝ երեքշաբթի՝ մայիսի 20-ին, 39% հավանականությամբ Երկրի մագնիսոլորտը կմնա հանգիստ։ Գեոմագնիսական ակտիվությունը չպետք է գերազանցի Kr ինդեքսի 4 կետը, որը համապատասխանում է հանգիստ մագնիսոլորտին։ Այնուամենայնիվ, կա մագնիսական դաշտի ակտիվության աճի հնարավորություն՝ մագնիսոլորտում խանգարումների հավանականությունը գնահատվում է 35%։ Մագնիսական փոթորկի հնարավորությունը նույնպես չի կարելի բացառել՝ այն գնահատվում է 26%։

Գիտնականները կանխատեսում են, որ Երկրի մագնիսոլորտը հաջորդ շաբաթվա ընթացքում կմնա հանգիստ։ Մինչև մայիսի 27-ը գեոմագնիսական ակտիվությունը կմնա «կանաչ» մակարդակի վրա։ Սակայն 28-ին և 29-ին սպասվում է ուժեղ մագնիսական փոթորիկ։

Հունիսի սկզբին նույնպես կանխատեսվում է փոթորիկ. հունիսի 1-ից 6-ը Երկրի մագնիսոլորտը կմնա գրգռված։ Այնուհետև եղանակային պայմաններին զգայուն մարդիկ կապրեն հանգիստ շրջան, որը կընդհատվի հունիսի 14-ին, երբ Երկրին կրկին փոթորիկ կհարվածի։
