Պաշտպանության նախարարության, ծնողների և մտահոգ մարդկանց աջակցությամբ, բազմաթիվ քիմիաթերապիաների արդյունքում զինվորը կարծես լիովին ապաքինվել էր, սակայն 2016 թվականի հունվարին կատարված հետազոտությունից հետո պարզվում է, որ հիվանդությունը կրկին գլուխ է բարձրացրել: Այժմ այդ չարորակ բջիջները տարածված են ոչ միայն թոքերում, այլև կերակրափողի մոտ:
