Հայերի մասնակցությունը Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմին

Հայազգի զինվորականների ավանդը Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմում ֆաշիստական Գերմանիայի դեմ պայքարում հսկայական է եղել: Ինչպես նշել է խորհրդային մարշալ Ժուկովը. «Հայ մարտիկները` զինվորից մինչև մարշալ, իրենց ծածկել են քաջարի ռազմիկների անթառամ փառքով»:
Չնայած, որ Հայաստանում ռազմական գործողություններ, բարեբախտաբար տեղի չունեցան, սակայն սա բոլորի ընդհանուր պատերազմն էր, որում հայազգի քաջարի մարտիկներից շատերը չխնայեցին իրենց կյանքը, շատերն էլ հերոսացան ու արժանացան բարձրագույն պարգևների և կոչումների:
Խորհրդային Միության, ինչպես նաև եվրոպական երկրներում բնակվող հայ ժողովուրդը ակտիվ մասնակցություն ունեցավ պատերազմին: Շուրջ 650000 հայ մասնակցեց պատերազմին, և նրանցից մոտ 350000-ը զոհվեց: Հարկ է նշել, որ պատմության մեջ երբևէ հայ ժողովուրդը միաժամանակ ռազմի դաշտ չի հանել այդքան զինվորներ և որևէ պատերազմի ժամանակ այդքան մարդկային կորուստներ չի տվել: Մասնակիցներից 300 հազարը եղել է Խորհրդային Հայաստանից, 200 հազարը` Խորհրդային Միության այլ հանրապետություններից: Սա իրոք զգալի թիվ է, եթե հաշվի առնենք, որ 1939թ. տվյալներով հայերի թիվը ողջ ԽՍՀՄ-ում մոտ 2 մլն էր, այսինքն` հայերի 25 տոկոսը մարտնչում էր: Բացի նրանցից` 100 հազար հայ էլ մարտնչում էր հակահիտլերյան կոալիցիայի երկրների զորքերի կազմում: Շուրջ 70 հազար հայ պարգևատրվել է մարտական շքանշաններով ու մեդալներով:
Խորհրդային Միության հերոսի կոչման է արժանացել հայ ժողովրդի 106 զավակ: Եվս 10 հայաստանցի արժանացել է ԽՍՀՄ հերոսի կոչման: ԽՍՀՄ մարշալ Հովհաննես Բաղրամյանն ու օդաչու Նելսոն Ստեփանյանն այդ կոչմանն արժանացաել են կրկնակի: Նելսոն Ստեփանյանի հաշվում կա 1700 մարտական թռիչք, թշնամու խորտակված 13 նավ և հազարավոր սպանված թշնամիներ:
Եվս 27 հայ զինվորական դարձել է փառքի շքանշանի լրիվ ասպետ, ինչը հավասարեցվում է Հերոսի կոչմանը:
Հայ ժողովուրդը Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմին տվել է 64 գեներալ, մեկ ավիացիայի մարշալ, մեկ ծովակալ: Պատերազմից հետո գեներալի կոչում է ստացել մարտական գործողությունների մասնակից ևս 83 հայ սպա:
Հայերը ԽՍՀՄ ժողովուրդների շարքում չորրորդն էին ռազմածովային նավատորմի գեներալների, ռազմաօդային ուժերի, հրետանային զորքերի սպաների կազմում և վեցերորդ տեղում էին ԽՍՀՄ հերոսների ցանկում: Իսկ եթե հայ ժողովրդի զոհերի և հերոսների թիվը համեմատենք այդ տարիների ՀԽՍՀ բնակչության թվի հետ, հայերն առաջատարն էին…
Հայազգի մեկ զորահրամանատար զբաղեցնում էր ռազմաճակատի հրամանատարի պաշտոնը (Հովհաննես Բաղրամյան), 3-ը` բանակի, 6-ը` կորպուսի, 28-ը` դիվիզիայի, 100-ը` բրիգադի ու գնդի հրամանատարներ էին: 80000 հայ պարգևատրվեց մեդալներով ու շքանշաններով:
Գեներալների և ռազմաօդային ուժերի, զրահատանկային և հրետանային զորքերի բարձրաստիճան սպաների քանակով հայերը 4-րդն են ռուսներից, ուկրաինացիներից և բելառուսներից հետո: Ահա մի քանի անուններ` Ավիացիայի մարշալ Արմենակ Խանփերյանց Ալեքսանդրի, բանակի գեներալ, հետագայում` մարշալ Հովհաննես Բաղրամյան, նավատորմի ծովակալ Հովհաննես Իսակով, բժշկական ծառայության գեներալ-գնդապետ Լևոն Օրբելի, տանկային զորքերի գեներալ-մայոր Համազասպ Բաբաջանյան, ինժեներատեխնիկական ծառայության գեներալ-մայոր Համո Յոլյան և շատ այլ փառապանծ հայազգի զինվորականներ, որոնցով այժմ էլ հպարտ է մեր ազգը:
