Փաշինյանի վրա ճնշումներն ավելացրել են, ընդ որում ոչ միայն Ռուսաստանից, այլ նաև Եվրոպայից։ Եվրամիության ընդլայնման հարցերով հանձնակատար Մարտա Կոսը երեկ հայտարարել է, թե դեռ Հայաստանի կողմից Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելու հայտ չեն ստացել, երբ ստանան, կքննարկեն։ Չհստակեցնելով, դիմումը ստանալու դեպքում Բրյուսելը հավանություն կտա, թե ոչ, եվրոպացի բարձրաստիճան դիվանագետը միայն ընդգծել է, Երևանում հնչող այդ ցանկությունը ցույց է տալիս, թե որքան գրավիչ է այսօր եվրոպական ընտանիքը։ Այդուհանդերձ, եվրոհանձնակատարի խոսքերից կարելի է եզրակացնել, որ Հայաստանին որևէ մեկը Եվրոպայում չի սպասում, բայց միևնույն ժամանակ սպասում են Երևանի պատասխան արևմտամետ գործողություններին։

Մյուս կողմից էլ Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելու հայտի ներկայացումը լրջագույն խնդիրներ կարող է հարուցել հենց Եվրասիական տնտեսական միությունում, որտեղից Հայաստանն ահռելի տնտեսական օգուտներ է ստանում։ Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարարության ԱՊՀ երկրների առաջին դեպարտամենտի տնօրեն Միքայել Աղասանդյանը հայտարարել է, թե հայ գործընկերների հետ շփումների ընթացքում բացատրում են եվրոպական և եվրասիական նորմերի օբյեկտիվ անհամատեղելիությունը և այդ միավորումների միաժամանակյա անդամակցության անհնարինությունը։ «Երևանը լավ հասկանում է ԵԱՏՄ-ին մասնակցելու առավելությունները և դրանից դուրս գալու բացասական հետևանքները։ Եվրամիությունը չի կարողանա փոխհատուցել Հայաստանի տնտեսության համար անխուսափելի կորուստները»,- ասել է Աղասանդյանը։ Նա պարզաբանել է, որ ԵԱՏՄ-ից դուրս գալու ընթացակարգը մեկնարկում է միայն այն դեպքում, երբ անդամ պետությունը համապատասխան գրավոր նամակ է ուղղում։ Այս փուլում հայկական կողմը ոչ մի անգամ, ոչ հրապարակավ, ոչ երկկողմ շփումների ընթացքում չի հայտարարել պայմանագրից դուրս գալու մտադրության մասին։ Հակառակը շարունակում է ակտիվ և արդյունավետ աշխատանքը։ «Եթե Երևանն, այնուամենայնիվ, ձեռնարկի քայլեր, որոնք հակասում են ԵԱՏՄ օրենսդրությանը, այլ կերպ ասած, ըստ էության, խախտի ԵԱՏՄ մասին պայմանագիրը, մենք ունենք անհրաժեշտ միջազգային իրավական մեխանիզմներ՝ միավորման մյուս անդամ պետությունների շահերը պաշտպանելու համար»,- նշել է Աղասանդյանը։
