Հզոր փոթորիկը տապալել է ծառեր և էլեկտրահաղորդման գծեր, չորեքշաբթի առավոտյան Փենսիլվանիայում, Օհայոյում և հարևան նահանգներում կես միլիոնից ավելի սպառողներ մնացել են առանց էլեկտրաէներգիայի, իսկ տեղական իշխանությունները հայտնել են առնվազն երեք մարդու մահվան մասին, հաղորդում է Associated Press-ը։

Միացյալ Նահանգներում էլեկտրաէներգիայի խափանումներին հետևող PowerOutage.us կայքի տվյալներով՝ Փենսիլվանիայում ավելի քան 440 հազար, իսկ Օհայոյում՝ ևս 50 հազար սպառող մնացել է առանց էլեկտրաէներգիայի:

Հարևան նահանգները, դրանց թվում՝ Միչիգանը, Նյու Յորքը և Արևմտյան Վիրջինիան, ևս հայտնել են էլեկտրաէներգիայի հազարավոր անջատումների մասին։

Ծայրահեղ եղանակային պայմանների պատճառով որոշ խափանումներ է ունեցել քաղաքային 911 համակարգը, սակայն ավելի ուշ վերականգնվել է, հայտնել են գերատեսչությունից։

Փիթսբուրգի Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայության գրասենյակից հայտնել են, որ երեքշաբթի տարածաշրջանում գրանցվել են ավերիչ քամու ուժգնություն: Ուղիղ գծով քամու ուժգնությունը հասել է 129-145 կմ/ժ-ի։

Ազգային օդերևութաբանական ծառայությունից նախազգուշացրել են, որ չորեքշաբթի առատ կամ չափազանց շատ տեղումները կարող են հանգեցնել լրացուցիչ ջրհեղեղների հարավային հարթավայրերի որոշ հատվածներում, իսկ ամենամեծ վտանգը սպառնում է Արկանզասի արևմտյան մասում գտնվող Red River հովտին։ Հյուսիսային կենտրոնական Տեխասից մինչև Լուիզիանա կանխատեսվել են նաև ուժեղ ամպրոպներ՝ հնարավոր կարկուտով, ավերիչ քամիներով և տորնադոներով։
