Ոստիկանությունից հայտնել են, որ կրակոցների մասին հաղորդագրություններ է ստացել մայրաքաղաք Ստոկհոլմից մոտ 60 կիլոմետր հյուսիս ընկած Ուփսալա քաղաքի կենտրոնում: Հայտնաբերվել են նաև տարբեր՝ ըստ ամենայնի՝ կրակոցների հետևանքով մարմնական վնասվածքներ ստացած մարդիկ են, հայտնել է Ֆրանսպրես գործակալությունը։
Թարմացված հայտարարության մեջ ոստիկանությունը հայտնել է, որ կրակոցների հետևանքով երեք մարդ է զոհվել։ Գերատեսչությունից հայտնել են, որ սպանության առնչությամբ հետաքննություն է սկսվել։
Ըստ հանրային SVT հեռուստատեսության հաղորդման՝ ականատեսները պատմել են, որ կասկածյալը փախուստի է դիմել է սկուտերով։ TV4 հեռուստաալիքը հայտնել է, որ կրակոցներ են արձակվել քաղաքի կենտրոնի վարսավիրանոցներից մեկում։
Վերջին տարիներին սկանդինավյան երկիրը դժվարանում է զսպել մրցակից հանցավոր խմբավորումների միջև հաշիվները մաքրելու հետ կապված կրակոցներն ու պայթյունները։ Հանցագործները հաճախ դեռահասներ են, որոնց վարձում են որպես մարդասպաններ, քանի որ նրանք 15 տարեկանից փոքր են, ինչը Շվեդիայում քրեական պատասխանատվության տարիքային սահմանափակում է։
Հունվարին Շվեդիայի ոստիկանությունը հայտնել էր, որ 2024 թվականին կրակոցների թիվը նվազել է երկրորդ տարին անընդմեջ՝ հասնելով 296-ի, ինչը նախորդ տարվա համեմատ20 տոկոսով պակաս է։
