Հայ ժողովրդի պատմական ուղին փշոտ ու դժվարին է։ Ամեն տարի ապրիլի 24-ին աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերից հազարավոր մարդիկ բարձրանում են Երևանի Ծիծեռնակաբերդի հուշահամալիրի բլուրը՝ հարգելու Օսմանյան կայսրությունում 20-րդ դարի առաջին ցեղասպանության ժամանակ հայ ժողովրդի 1,5 միլիոն անմեղ զոհերի հիշատակը։ Ցեղասպանության անմեղ զոհերը 2015 թվականի ապրիլի 23-ին դասվել են Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցու սրբերի շարքին։

Ինչպես EADaily-ի թղթակցի հետ զրույցում ասել է Տյումեն քաղաքում Հայաստանի պատվավոր հյուպատոս և Տյումենի մարզի հայերի միության նախագահ Աբրահամ Հովեյանը, չնայած այն բանին, որ արդեն 110 տարի է անցել, 1915 թվականի ապրիլի 24-ը մնում է հայ ժողովրդի պատմության մեջ ամենաողբերգական ամսաթիվը, որը միլիոնների կյանքեր ու ճակատագրեր բաժանում է «առաջի» ու «հետոյի»:

«Անցած տարիները չեն մեղմել այն անասելի ցավն ու վիշտը, որ զգում է յուրաքանչյուր հայ՝ աշխարհի որ ծայրում էլ որ լինի, որովհետև 1915 թվականի իրադարձությունները ցնցեցին ողջ համաշխարհային հանրությանը։ Եղեռնից հրաշքով փրկված և հալածանքների ամենադժվար ճանապարհն անցած մեր հայրենակիցները ցրվեցին աշխարհով մեկ՝ կազմելով հայկական սփյուռքը։

Հարյուր հազարավոր անպաշտպան և անօթևան հայեր ապաստան գտան Ռուսական կայսրության տարածքում, որտեղ 1915 թվականի ողբերգական իրադարձություններն ընկալվեցին՝ որպես սեփական վիշտ։

Չնայած այն բոլոր դժվարություններին, որոնց միջով անցել ենք, հայ ժողովրդի վերածնունդը տեղի ունեցած ողբերգություններից հետո դարձավ մեր նախնիների գլխավոր խնդիրը։ Ի վերջո, հենց սրանից էր կախված հայ ժողովրդի պատմության հաջորդ էջը։

Միջազգային հանրության կողմից ցեղասպանության փաստի ճանաչումը դարձել է գլխավոր խնդիրը։ Հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ բռնության միջազգային դատապարտման առաջին նախաձեռնությունն առաջ են քաշել ռուս դիվանագետները։ Ռուսական կայսրության այն ժամանակվա արտաքին գործերի նախարար Սերգեյ Սազոնովի ջանքերը հանգեցրին նրան, որ Ռուսաստանը, Ֆրանսիան և Մեծ Բրիտանիան այս իրադարձություններն անվանեցին «հանցագործություն մարդկության և քաղաքակրթության դեմ»։ Աստիճանաբար աշխարհը իմացավ Օսմանյան կայսրության արյունալի ծրագրի մասին։ Այսօր Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչված և դատապարտված է աշխարհի բազմաթիվ երկրների և միջազգային ազդեցիկ կազմակերպությունների կողմից։

1995 թվականի ապրիլի 14-ին Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության Պետական ​​դուման առաջիններից էր, որ ընդունեց 1915-1922 թվականների Հայոց ցեղասպանության կազմակերպիչներին դատապարտող և ապրիլի 24-ը Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օր ճանաչելու մասին հայտարարություն։

Համաշխարհային հանրության կողմից հենց ճանաչումն է, որ կարող է անել ամեն ինչ, որպեսզի անցյալի ողբերգական իրադարձությունները երբեք չկրկնվեն, որպեսզի բոլոր ազգերը կարողանան ապրել խաղաղության և ներդաշնակության մեջ: Եվ մենք պետք է դա անենք համատեղ ջանքերով` ի շահ մարդկության»,- ասում է Աբրահամ Հովեյանը։
