Այսօր՝ ապրիլի 22-ին, Ազգային ժողովի «Հայաստան» խմբակցությունը ԱԺ կներկայացնի օրենքի փոփոխության նախագիծ, որով առաջարկվում է քրեականացնել Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժխտումը, նսեմացումը և արդարացումը, գրում է ԱԺ «Հայաստան» խմբակցության պատգամավոր, ՀՅԴ Հայաստանի Գերագույն մարմնի ներկայացուցիչ Իշխան Սաղաթելյանը։

«Այս նախաձեռնությունը ուղղակի պատասխան է Թուրքիայից պարտադրվող ժխտողական քաղաքականությանը և ներկայիս իշխանությունների՝ այդ քաղաքականությանը ենթարկվելու փաստին։

Իշխանությունն ունի երկու ընտրություն.

  1. կողմ քվեարկել օրինագծին՝ փակելով Հայոց ցեղասպանության ուրացման դուռը,
  2. մերժել նախագիծը՝ պաշտոնապես ամրագրելով, որ ինքն իրականացնում է ժխտողական քաղաքականություն։

Երրորդ տարբերակ չկա։

Նախագիծը մշակվել է՝ հիմնվելով ՀՀ Անկախության հռչակագրում ամրագրված դրույթների, ինչպես նաև եվրոպական մի շարք պետությունների օրենքների հիման վրա, որտեղ ցեղասպանության ժխտումը, այդ թվում՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության, վաղուց քրեորեն պատժելի է։

ԱԺ-ում այս նախագծի քննարկումը վեր է ածվելու հիշողության և ազգային ինքնության պաշտպանության հարցում ջրբաժանի։

Ջրբաժանի մի կողմում հայ ժողովուրդն է՝ իր հիշողությամբ, արժանապատվությամբ և իրավունքներով, իսկ մյուս կողմում՝ մեր ժողովրդի թշնամիները։ Կողմերին ընտրելու է մեզանից յուրաքանչյուրը։

Ուստի, կոչ ենք անում բոլոր քաղաքական ուժերին, մտավորականությանը, քաղաքացիական հասարակությանը՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության 110-րդ տարելիցին ընդառաջ հստակեցնել և վերահաստատել իրենց դիրքորոշումները և համատեղ  պայքարել ուրացման քաղաքականության դեմ»։
