Մեծ Բրիտանիայի թագավոր Չարլզ III-ը Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնին հրավիրել է պետական այցով երկիր ժամանել մայիսին՝ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի սեպտեմբերին սպասվող այցից ամիսներ առաջ, գրում է The Sunday Times-ը։
Ֆրանսիացի առաջնորդի առաջին պետական այցը նախատեսվում է Brexit-ից տարիներ անց Եվրամիության հետ հարաբերությունները վերսկսելու ուղղությամբ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Քիր Սթարմերի ձգտման պայմաններում, այն դեպքում, երբ Բրիտանիայի պատմական ամերիկյան դաշնակիցները Թրամփի նախագահության օրոք ավելի հեռու և ինքնամփոփ են դառնում, նշում է պարբերականը։
Ակնկալվում է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան և ԵՄ-ն մայիսի 19-ին Լոնդոնում կայանալիք գագաթնաժողովում պաշտպանության և անվտանգության պայմանագիր կստորագրեն՝ ամբողջ Եվրոպայում ռազմական ծախսերը մեծացնելու նպատակով:
Թեև պաշտպանությունը դարձավ ԵՄ-ի և Մեծ Բրիտանիայի միջև կապերը վերականգնելու առաջին աստիճանը, սակայն դրա հետևանքներն ակնհայտ են դառնում առևտրի համար, քանի որ պայմանագիրը կարող է ճանապարհ հարթել հետագա բանակցությունների համար, ինչպիսիք են գյուղատնտեսության և պարենային ոլորտներում չափանիշների համաձայնագիրը՝ առևտրային բյուրոկրատիան կրճատելու նպատակով, ինչպես նաև ԵՄ ծրագրերը, ինչպիսիք են երիտասարդության և ուսանողների շարժունակության բարձրացումը:
Փաստորեն, պաշտպանության պայմանագիրը կախված է նրանից, թե, արդյո՞ք, Բրիտանիան զիջումների կգնա ԵՄ նավատորմի համար անգլիական ջրերում ձկնորսության իրավունքների հարցում: Ակնկալվում է, որ երկու կողմերն էլ կօգտագործեն հաջորդ ամսվա հանդիպումը, որպեսզի ընդհանուր ըմբռնման հասնեն, թե որ հարցերն են դառնալու Սթարմերի առաջարկած Միացյալ Թագավորության և ԵՄ-ի միջև հարաբերությունների ավելի ընդգրկուն վերսկսման մաս:
Միևնույն ժամանակ, Ատլանտյան օվկիանոսի մյուս կողմում ԱՄՆ նախագահը վերջերս ենթադրեց, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիա կայցելի սեպտեմբերին, այն բանից հետո, երբ Սթարմերը փետրվարին Վաշինգտոն կատարած իր այցի ժամանակ նրան հանձնեց Չարլզ թագավորի հրավերը:
