ԱՄՆ Ինդիանա նահանգի իշխանությունները հայտարարել են, որ ավելի քան 50 տարի անց այն բանից հետո, երբ երիտասարդ կնոջը սպանել են իր մանկահասակ դստեր աչքի առաջ, գործը բացահայտվել է, հայտնում է ABC News-ը։
1972 թվականի հուլիսի 7-ի գիշերը 26-ամյա Ֆիլիս Բեյլերը և նրա 3-ամյա դուստրը Ինդիանապոլիսից 100 մղոն ճանապարհով գնացին Բլաֆթոն՝ այցելելու Բեյլերի ծնողներին, բայց նրանք այդպես էլ չեն հասել այնտեղ։
Հաջորդ առավոտյան Բեյլերի մեքենան դատարկ են գտել Ինդիանա նահանգի Գրանտ շրջանում:
Մոտ մեկ ժամ անց Ալեն շրջանում մեքենա վարող մի կին գտել է Բեյլերին և նրա դստերը ճանապարհի եզրին, խրամատի մեջ:
Բեյլերը ենթարկվել է սեռական ոտնձգության և գնդակահարվել ու սպանվել: Նա եղել է 3-ամյա դստեր հետ, որը չի տուժել։
Ձերբակալություններ չեն եղել։ Տարիներ անց Բեյլերի հագուստից ստացվել է մասնակի ԴՆԹ թեստ, որը, ըստ ոստիկանության, թույլ է տվել իշխանություններին բացառել հիմնական կասկածյալին:
Անցյալ տարի, ոստիկանության տվյալներով, Բեյլերի հագուստից շատ ավելի ճշգրիտ ԴՆԹ թեստ է ստացվել, և քննիչները սկսել են աշխատել դատաբժշկական ծագումնաբանական ընկերության հետ: Գենետիկական ծագումնաբանությունը հետաքննող գործիք է, որն առաջին անգամ օգտագործվել է 2018 թվականին՝ Գոլդեն Սթեյթի մարդասպանին ձերբակալելու համար, որտեղ հանցագործության վայրից անհայտ ԴՆԹ-ն նույնացվել է՝ համեմատելով ընտանիքի անդամների ԴՆԹ-ի հետ, ովքեր կամավոր ԴՆԹ-ի նմուշներ են տրամադրել տվյալների բազա:
Օգտագործելով գենետիկական ծագումնաբանությունը՝ ոստիկանությունը հայտնաբերել է Ֆրեդ Ալեն Լինեմանին որպես այն մարդու, ով ԴՆԹ է թողել Բեյլերի հագուստի վրա, չորեքշաբթի հայտնել են իշխանությունները: Լիենմանը, ով սպանության պահին 25 տարեկան էր, «հայտնի կապեր չուներ Ֆիլիս Բեյլերի հետ, բայց ուներ զգալի քրեական պատմություն», - ասել է ոստիկանությունը:
Լիենմանը սպանվել է Դեթրոյթում 1985 թվականին: Եթե նա ապրեր, դատախազները նրան մեղադրանք կներկայացնեին Բեյլերի սպանության մեջ, հայտնել են ոստիկանությունից:
