Венгрия заблокировала военную помощь, которую ЕС планировал выделить Армении

Венгрия заблокировала выделение Европейским союзом дополнительных 20 миллионов евро в виде «нелетальной» военной помощи Армении через Европейский фонд мира (EPF).

Все страны-ЕС, за исключением Венгрии, поддержали предложение главы внешнеполитического ведомства ЕС Каллас, сообщил дипломатический источник в Брюсселе, добавив, что Будапешт продолжил накладывать вето на это решение во время встречи министров иностранных дел ЕС, состоявшейся в Люксембурге в понедельник.

«После сегодняшних переговоров пока не достигнуто никакого прогресса», — сообщил источник армянской службе радио «Свобода».

В июле прошлого года Армения получила первую в истории военную помощь ЕС на сумму 10 миллионов евро. Деньги планировалось потратить в течение следующих двух с половиной лет на создание полевого госпиталя и вспомогательных объектов для армянского армейского подразделения численностью до батальона.

Венгрия в течение нескольких месяцев блокировала это выделение, требуя, чтобы аналогичная помощь была предоставлена и Азербайджану, с которым она поддерживает тесные связи. Сообщается, что ЕС снял вето в обмен на обещание ЕС финансировать работы по разминированию в Азербайджане из другого источника.

В отличие от других государств-членов ЕС, Венгрия открыто поддержала Азербайджан в нагорно-карабахском конфликте. МИД Венгрии подтвердил эту поддержку через три дня после начала войны в Карабахе в 2020 году.
