ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախկին նախարար Վարդան Օսկանյանը գրել է․

«Վերջին շրջանում իշխող ուժի ներկայացուցիչների կողմից՝ թե՛ Ազգային ժողովում, թե՛ դրա սահմաններից դուրս, հայտարարությունների պակաս չի զգացվել։ Որքան ողբերգական են նրանց քաղաքականության և գործողությունների հետևանքները հայ ժողովրդի համար, այնքան բարձր են նրանց լեզուն, տոնը և պահվածքը։ Երբ մեկը հետևում է Փաշինյանի և նրա շրջապատի թատերական ելույթներին, դժվար է ինքն իրեն հարց չուղղելը՝ մի՞թե Փաշինյանն ու իր շրջապատը իսկապես հավատում են, որ կարող են պատճառել հազարավոր զոհեր, դատարկել ու հանձնել Արցախը, զիջել տարածքներ Հայաստանից, քանդել ազգային ոգին, չարաշահել պետական միջոցները, բռնությամբ պահել իշխանությունը, ոտնահարել Սահմանադրությունը, իսկ հետո պարզապես մի օր հեռանալ, գնալ տուն ու շարունակել նորմալ կյանքով ապրել։ Մի՞թե կարծում են, թե կարող են լվանալ իրենց ձեռքերը արյունից ու սեփական շահերը սպասարկող ճառերով և դատարկ խիզախությամբ ծածկել անկարողության, ձախողության և պարտություն փաստերը։ Եթե իրապես հավատում են դրան, ուրեմն նրանք պարզապես ցինիկ չեն՝ նրանք մոլորության մեջ են։

Նրանց՝ հրապարակային կերպարը շքեղացնելու ջանքերը, բեմադրված ելույթները, դատարկաբան հռետորաբանությունը, ուռճացված խիզախության ցուցադրությունները ուժի կամ համոզմունքի նշաններ չեն։ Դրանք վախի դրսևորումներ են։ Դրանք չեն նմանվում մարդկանց կեցվածքին, ովքեր վստահ կանգնած են՝ հավատալով, որ պատմությունը կարդարացնի իրենց։ Դրանք նման են այն անհանգիստ շարժումներին, որոնք անում են մարդիկ, երբ խորքում գիտեն՝ մեղավոր են։ Մեղավոր իրենց ժողովրդի հանդեպ։ Մեղավոր՝ հայկական պատմության ընթացքի հանդեպ։

Նրանց չափազանցված հռետորաբանությունն առանձին խոստովանություն է. իրենք գիտեն, որ այն, ինչ արել են, աններելի է։ Եվ խորքում՝ վախենում են դատաստանից, որը գիտեն՝ գալու է։ Ոչ մի անպարտելիության զգեստ չի կարող պաշտպանել նրանց ճշմարտության վճռից, կամ այն արդարադատությունից, որը այդ ճշմարտությունը պահանջում է»։
