Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը Հայաստանի ամենահարուստ մարդկանցից մեկն է, սակայն նրա միլիոնները հիմա այդքան էլ օգուտ չեն տալիս, քանի որ նրան ցմահ ազատազրկում է սպառնում Ադրբեջանում: Այս մասին իր անդրադարձում գրել է BBC-ն՝ հիշեցնելով, որ Վարդանյանի ու մյուս 15 հայ առաջնորդների հարցը ներառված չէ հայ-ադրբեջանական խաղաղության պայմանագրի տեքստում:
BBC-ն նշում է, որ 56-ամյա գործարարի դեմ ներկայացվել է 42 «մեղադրանք»՝ ահաբեկչությունից մինչև ռազմական հանցագործություններ:
«Դատարանում արված լուսանկարում երևում է, որ նրա ճակատին կապտուկներ կան, հնչել են խոշտանգումների մասին մեղադրանքներ, որոնք հերքվել են Ադրբեջանի կողմից: Բաքուն պնդում է, որ կալանքի ընթացքում Վարդանյանի իրավունքները հարգվում են: Սա դրամատիկ անկում է մի մարդու համար, ով իր հարստությունը վաստակել է Ռուսաստանում և ժամանակին շփվել է այնպիսի հայտնի մարդկանց հետ, ինչպիսիք են Ջորջ և Ամալ Քլունիները», - ասվում է անդրադարձում:
BBC-ն հիշեցրել է, որ Վարդանյանը երեքշաբթի վերադարձել է Բաքվի ռազմական դատարան՝ մասնակցելու հերթական նիստին:
«Սակայն համախոհները վախենում են, որ նրա գործը կմնա Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև ձևավորված պատմական խաղաղության համաձայնագրի ստվերում: Մանրամասները դեռ պետք է հրապարակվեն, սակայն պաշտոնյաներն ասում են, որ տեքստի նախագիծը չի ներառում դատավարության մեջ գտնվող բանտարկյալների հարցը կամ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի էթնիկ հայերի` իրենց տները վերադառնալու իրավունքը: Բանտարկյալների մասին չհիշատակելը երկրի ներսում և արտերկրում հարուցել է Հայաստանի վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի կառավարության նկատմամբ քննադատություն», - եզրափակել է աղբյուրը:
