«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Գյումրու ավագանու ընտրությունների «էպոպեան», կարծես, հանգուցալուծում ստացավ: Երեկ հայտարարություն արեց նաև Մարտուն Գրիգորյանը՝ նշելով, որ չնայած մի շարք... «չնայածների», այդուամենայնիվ, ‹‹Մեր քաղաքը›› դաշինքը «կտա անհրաժեշտ քանակությամբ քվե՝ մյուս երկու ուժերի կողմից սատարվող թեկնածու Վարդան Ղուկասյանին՝ առանց որևէ պաշտոնի, ակնկալիքի և որևէ պայմանավորվածության»:

Ուշագրավ է, որ անցած մի քանի օրերին տպավորություն էր, թե ողջ ազգը սպասում է այս հայտարարությանը: Իսկ ահա իշխանական քարոզչամեքենան ու մերձիշխանական շրջանակները ակտիվորեն զբաղված էին ինտենսիվ հակաքարոզչությամբ ու «ջուր պղտորելով»: Ավելին, որոշ քպականներ ու «մերձքպականներ» նույնիսկ որոշել էին գովերգել Մարտուն Գրիգորյանին՝ հասկանալով, որ դա ինքնին հուժկու հակաքարոզչություն է Գրիգորյանի ու, ընդհանրապես, ցանկացած ընդդիմադիրի համար: Մյուս կողմից՝ զավեշտալի էր, որ «սպասման օրերին» Մարտուն Գրիգորյանի վերաբերյալ «ղայդին տղայի» թեմայով դատողություններ էր անում Արամ Զ. Սարգսյանը, որը փաստացի սերտ համագործակցության գնաց իր եղբոր վաստակն ուրացած ու մսխած օրվա իշխանությունների հետ: Առավել ևս, որ նրա քաղաքական ուժը երեք այլ կուսակցության հետ միասին Գյումրիում ընդամենը 4,5 տոկոս քվե ստացավ: Ընդ որում, վայելելով իշխանությունների աջակցությունը, ծախսելով լուրջ գումարներ, Եվրաինտեգրման ամբողջ ջատագովներով Գյումրիում քարոզչությանը լծվելով: Ըստ շատ քաղաքագետների, այս ցուցանիշն ինքնին վկայում է, որ իրականության հետ որևէ կապ չունի այն թեզը, թե հայաստանցիների մեծամասնությունը կողմ է դեպի ԵՄ շրջվելուն: Ստացվում է՝ իրականում նման տեսակետ ունի շատ փոքր մասը: Ի դեպ, մեր տեղեկություններով, առաջիկայում կհրապարակվեն նոր սոցհարցման տվյալներ, ըստ որոնց, արտաքին քաղաքական կողմնորոշման կտրուկ փոփոխությանը դեմ է հայաստանցիների գերակշիռ մեծամասնությունը:
