Մինչ Հայաստանում տվայտվում են, թե ով պետք է լինի Գյումրիի նոր քաղաքապետը, տարածաշրջանում իրավիճակը կտրուկ սրվում է։ Բրիտանական լրատվամիջոցների փոխանցմամբ` ԱՄՆ-ն և Իսրայելը պատրաստվում են ռմբակոծել Իրանի միջուկային օբյեկտները։ «Դեյլի մեյլ» բրիտանական պարբերականի հոդվածագիրը հաղորդում է, թե այդ մասին հայտնել են Իսրայելի մի քանի բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներ, որոնք արդեն իսկ պատրաստ են հարձակվելու իրանական միջուկային օբյեկտների վրա։

Ֆրանսիայի արտգործնախարար Ժան-Նոել Բարոն ևս նշել է, թե Իրանի միջուկային ծրագիրը զսպելու համար նոր համաձայնագրի հասնելու հնարավորությունները փոքր են, և եթե այն չհաջողվի, ռազմական առճակատումը գրեթե անխուսափելի է թվում։ Այս ֆոնին երեկ ուշ երեկոյան տելեգրամյան տարբեր ալիքներում իրանական պետական լրատվամիջոցների անունից կեղծ տեղեկություններ էին շրջանառվում, թե Իրանը փակում է օդային տարածքը ու բանակը տեղափոխում մարտական պատրաստության ԱՄՆ-ի սպառնալիքների պատճառով։ Տեղեկությունն, իհարկե, առավոտյան հերքվեց, բայց ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը նախօրեին Իրանին խոստացել է նախկինում չտեսնված ռմբակոծություններ, եթե այդ երկիրը համաձայնության չգա ԱՄՆ-ի հետ իր միջուկային ծրագրի գործարքի հարցում։

Եթե Արևմուտքը որոշի հարվածել Իրանին, ապա 1-ին հերթին հարվածի տակ է լինելու նաև Հայաստանը։ Այդ դեպքում չի բացառվում, որ Ադրբեջանին պարզապես թույլ կտան ներխուժել Սյունիք և կտրել Հայաստանն Իրանից։ Իրավիճակը չափազանց ողբերգական և ծանր կարող է լինել։ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները որևէ կերպ չեն արձագանքել, չեն հայտնել, թե արդյոք տեղյակ են տարածաշրջանի իրողություններից, փոխարենն ակտիվորեն փորձում են պառակտում մտցնել ընդդիմադիր տարբեր հատվածների միջև` սեփական պաշտոնավարումը երկարացնելու համար։
