ՆԱՏՕ-ն կարծում է, որ Գրենլանդիան պետք է մնա Դանիայի կազմում և կոչ է անում ՆԱՏՕ-ի արկտիկական բոլոր երկրներին ակտիվորեն համագործակցել։ Այս մասին Բրյուսելում կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում հայտարարել է ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Մարկ Ռյուտեն, փոխանցում է РИА Новости-ն։

«Գրենլանդիան կա և մնում է Դանիայի մաս: Բայց սա Արկտիկայի նկատմամբ վերահսկողության ավելի լայն խնդիր է, և այստեղ ՆԱՏՕ-ի բոլոր Արկտիկայի երկրները, ներառյալ ԱՄՆ-ը, պետք է ակտիվորեն համագործակցեն Ռուսաստանին և Չինաստանին հակազդելու համար», - ասել է դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղարը:

Ի թիվս այլ բաների, Ռյուտեն իր ելույթում մասնավորապես ուշադրություն է հրավիրել Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի անդամ երկրների «սառցահատների պակասի» վրա։

Չնայած Գրենլանդիայի առարկություններին, ամերիկյան պատվիրակությունը, այդ թվում՝ փոխնախագահի կինը՝ Ուշա Վենսը, այցելել է կղզի մարտի 27-ից 29-ը: Նրանց այցը տեղի է ունենում կղզու նկատմամբ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հավակնությունների ֆոնին:

ԱՄՆ նախագահական ընտրություններում հաղթանակից հետո Թրամփը առաջ քաշեց Գրենլանդիան գնելու գաղափարը։ Սակայն նախաձեռնությունը լուրջ դիմադրության է հանդիպել կղզու սեփականատեր Դանիայի, ինչպես նաև Գրենլանդիայի իշխանությունների և բնակիչների կողմից։
