USAGM-ը չեղարկում է «Ազատության» դրամաշնորհի դադարեցումը

ԱՄՆ Գլոբալ մեդիայի գործակալությունը (USAGM) չեղարկում է «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի 2025 ֆինանսական տարվա դրամաշնորհային համաձայնագրի դադարեցումը։ Մարտի 26-ին գործակալությունն այդ մասին ծանուցում է ուղարկել «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանին։
USAGM-ի ծանուցումը հետևել է ԱՄՆ Կոլումբիայի շրջանային դատարանի նույն օրվա որոշմանը, որով բավարարվեց ռադիոկայանի պահանջն ընդդեմ USAGM-ի և, մինչև գործի վերաբերյալ բուն լսումները, ժամանակավորապես կասեցվեց «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանը փակելու քայլերը։ Դատարանի որոշումը վերաբերում է նաև գործակալության գործադիր տնօրենի պաշտոնակատարի ավագ խորհրդական Քերի Լեյքի մարտի 15-ի ստորագրած որոշմանը՝ Կոնգրեսի հաստատած «Ազատությանը» հատկացվող դրամաշնորհի դադարեցման մասին։ «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի հայցնն ուղղված է Կոնգրեսի հատկացրած մոտ 77 միլիոն դոլարը ստանալուն։
«Սա հուսադրում է, որ «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի գործունեությունը կարող է շարունակվել, ինչպես Կոնգրեսն էր նախատեսում։ Մենք սպասում ենք USAGM-ի պաշտոնական հաստատմանը, որ դրամաշնորհային ֆինանսավորումն անհապաղ կվերսկսվի ինչպես ծանուցել են։ Մենք ցանկանում ենք ուղղակիորեն խոսել USAGM-ի ղեկավարության հետ այն աշխատանքի մասին, որը «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանը կատարում է ամերիկացի ժողովրդի համար», - հայտարարել է «Ազատ Եվրոպա/Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի նախագահ Սթիվեն Կապուսը՝ շեշտելով․ - «Ազատություն» ռադիոկայանի լռության ժամանակը չէ։ Միլիոնավոր մարդիկ վստահում են մեզ մասնավորապես որտեղ գրաքննությունը տարածված է: Մենք չպետք է դաշտը զիջենք մեր հակառակորդներին, երբ Ամերիկայի դեմ սպառնալիքներն աճում են»:
