Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանը Հունաստանի Անկախության օրվա կապակցությամբ ընդունել է Հայաստանում Հունաստանի արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Խրիստոս Սոֆիանոպուլոսին:

Ողջունելով հյուրին նախագահը՝ ի դեմս դեսպանի, շնորհավորել է Հունաստանի ղեկավարությանը և ժողովրդին ազգային տոնի կապակցությամբ:
 

«Հունաստանի հետ հարաբերություններն առանձնակի նշանակություն ունեն մեր ժողովրդի համար: Հայաստանը բարձր է գնահատում պատմականորեն սերտ հարաբերությունները Հունաստանի հետ՝ որոնց ակունքները վաղեմի են և ամուր՝ հիմնված փոխադարձ խոր համակրանքի, աջակցության և համերաշխության վրա»,- ասել է նախագահը:
 

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար դեսպան Խրիստոս Սոֆիանոպուլոսը նշել է. «Ինձ համար մեծ պատիվ է այստեղ գտնվել: Հայաստանը մեր երկրի բարեկամն է, որի հետ հարաբերությունները ձգվում են մինչև դարերի խորքը: Մեր երկկողմ հարաբերություններն այսօր ավելի են զարգանում և խորանում»:
 

Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել են երկու երկրների միջև համագործակցության լայն օրակարգին վերաբերող հարցեր: Կարևորվել են քաղաքական, տնտեսական, մշակութային, ռազմական, բարձր տեխնոլոգիաների և այլ ոլորտներում առկա փոխգործակցային ներուժի լիարժեք իրագործման ուղղությամբ արվող քայլերը:

Անդրադարձ է կատարվել մասնավորապես կրթության, ինչպես նաև սպայական կրթության ոլորտներում առկա լավագույն փորձի փոխանակման հետագա խթանման հեռանկարներին:
 

Զրույցի ընթացքում մտքեր են փոխանակվել Հայաստանի և Հունաստանի միջև ինչպես երկկողմ, այնպես էլ Եվրամիության շրջանակներում և միջազգային այլ հարթակներում առկա սերտ համագործակցության ընդլայնման՝ այդ թվում Հայաստան-Հունաստան-Կիպրոս եռակողմ ձևաչափի ներուժի ամբողջական կյանքի կոչման հնարավորությունների վերաբերյալ:
