Ինչպես և սպասելի էր, գործող իշխանությունը ողջ թափով հարձակման է անցել Գյումրիում՝ փորձելով պատժել ընդդիմախոսներին, խնդիրներ հարուցել նրանց համար, որպեսզի ՔՊ-ն և իր թեկնածուն առանց խոչընդոտների զավթեն իշխանությունը Հայաստանի երկրորդ քաղաքում։

Երեկ հայտնի դարձավ, որ դատախազությունն ուսումնասիրում է Գյումրիի նախկին քաղաքապետ, քաղաքապետի թեկնածու Վարդան Ղուկասյանին վերագրվող ձայնագրությունը, որտեղ իբր նա հայհոյանքներ է տալիս։ Դրանցում, ենթադրաբար, Վարդան Ղուկասյանը խոսում էր Գյումրիի շուկաներից մեկի աշխատակիցների հետ հանդիպում կազմակերպելու մասին և հիշեցնում է, որ ժամանակին ինքն է նրանց տաղավարներ տվել, որով մինչև հիմա տուն են պահում: Ձայնագրության մեջ նաև կոպիտ ու հայհոյախառն արտահայտություններ կան: Ինքը՝ Ղուկասյանը չի բացառում, որ ձայնագրությունն արհեստական բանականությամբ գեներացված լինի։

Այսօր էլ ոստիկանության և Հակակոռուպցիոն կոմիտեի աշխատակիցները խուզարկություն են իրականացրել Գյումրիի «Մայր Հայաստան» դաշինքի գրասենյակում՝ ակնհայտորեն խոչընդոտելով շտաբի աշխատանքները: Ավելի վաղ Հակակոռուպցիոն կոմիտեն հաղորդագրություն էր տարածել՝ նշելով, որ ՀՀ հակակոռուպցիոն կոմիտեում նախաձեռնվել են քրեական վարույթներ ընտրակաշառք տալու, ստանալու, ինչպես նաև ընտրության ժամանակ բարեգործության արգելքը խախտելու առերևույթ հանցագործությունների վերաբերյալ ՀՀ ՆԳՆ քրեական ոստիկանությունից և Ազգային անվտանգության ծառայությունից ստացված հաղորդումների հիման վրա:

Քիչ առաջ էլ փաստաբան Արսեն Բաբայանը հայտնեց, որ լայնածավալ իրավապահ «հարձակում» է սկսվել «Մեր քաղաքը» դաշինքի Գյումրու քաղաքապետի թեկնածու Մարտուն Գրիգորյանի նախընտրական շտաբներում։

Վարդան Ղուկասյանն էլ, ընդդիմության մյուս թեկնածուներն էլ սուրբ չեն, անմեղության կանխավարկածն էլ չենք ուզենա խախտել, բայց որ իրավապահ համակարգը լծվելու է ընդդիմադիր ուժերին ճնշելու գործին, պարզ էր ի սկզբանե։ Եվ այսօր տեսնում ենք այդ գործընթացի առանձին դրվագները։
