Соединенные Штаты могут начать вести боевые действия в отношении Ирана при определенных обстоятельствах. Об этом заявил спецпосланник президента США Стивен Уиткофф.
«Нам не надо разрешать все вопросы военным путем, но это не означает, что если нас подведут к определенной черте, мы не прибегнем к боевым действиям, мы это сделаем при определенных обстоятельствах», - сказал он в интервью телеканалу Fox News в ответ на соответствующий вопрос.
Уиткофф добавил, что позиция президента США Дональда Трампа заключается в том, что «у Ирана не должно быть [ядерной] бомбы». «Мы не можем допустить, чтобы они начали создавать ядерный арсенал. Этого не должно произойти», - указал спецпосланник американского лидера.
7 марта Трамп написал на своей странице в Truth Social, что направил в адрес верховного лидера Ирана аятоллы Али Хаменеи послание с предложением о переговорах по ядерной программе Тегерана. Иранский лидер, комментируя это заявление американского президента, подчеркнул, что его страна не будет вести диалог с США, так как Вашингтон заботят только собственные интересы. 12 марта Хаменеи назвал слова Трампа о готовности к переговорам обманом мирового общественного мнения.
