ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ խոսելուց հետո դիտարկում է Թուրքիայի դեմ պատժամիջոցները չեղարկելու և կործանիչների վաճառքը վերսկսելու հարցը։
Թրամփը հայտնել է իր մտադրությունը՝ օգնել ավարտին հասցնել Թուրքիային F-16 կործանիչների վաճառքը և բաց է Թուրքիային նրա իսկական թիրախը՝ F-35 կործանիչներ վաճառելու գաղափարին, եթե երկու կողմերը կարողանան համաձայնության գալ, որը ռուսական S-400 համակարգը կդարձնի անգործունակ, հայտնում է Fox News-ը՝ վկայակոչելով աղբյուրներին։

Թուրքիայի դեսպանատունը մատնանշել է Էրդողանի գրասենյակից հեռախոսազրույցի ձայնագրությունը, որտեղ Թուրքիայի նախագահն ասել է Թրամփին. «Պաշտպանական արդյունաբերության ոլորտում երկու երկրների համագործակցությունը զարգացնելու համար անհրաժեշտ է չեղարկել CAATSA-ի պատժամիջոցները, ավարտել F-16-ի գնումների գործընթացը և Թուրքիայի մասնակցությունը F-35 ծրագրին»:
