Не менее 16 человек погибли на территории США, когда мощный торнадо пронесся по Техасу и Оклахоме, сообщает NBC News.
От южных равнин до Среднего Запада, по оценкам, 138 миллионам человек угрожают суровые погодные условия. Предупреждения о торнадо были опубликованы в некоторых районах Иллинойса, Миссури, Арканзаса, Миссисипи, Индианы, Кентукки, Луизианы и Теннесси.
Из-за ураганов здания превратились в руины, нарушено электроснабжение и произошло более 100 лесных пожаров. Управление по чрезвычайным ситуациям округа Батлер заявило, что число погибших может возрасти, поскольку поисково-спасательные операции на месте продолжаются.
Миллионы людей остаются в опасности, поскольку шторм прокладывает себе путь по региону.
