Իրանը, իսկապես ցանկություն ունենալու դեպքում, կարող է միջուկային զենք ստեղծել առանց ԱՄՆ-ի համաձայնության, հայտարարել է Իրանի գերագույն առաջնորդ Այաթոլլահ Ալի Խամենեին՝ անդրադառնալով ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հայտարարությոանն առ այն, որ իրենք ԱՄՆ-ին թույլ չեն տա միջուկային զենք ձեռք բերել։ Խամենեիի խոսքերը հայտնում է Tasnim-ը։
«Եթե մենք ցանկանայինք միջուկային զենք արտադրել, Ամերիկան չէր կարող մեզ կանգնեցնել: Պատճառը, որ մենք չունենք միջուկային զենք, այն է, որ մենք ինքներս չենք ցանկանում այդ տեսակի զենք՝ նախկինում նշված պատճառներով», - ասել է Իրանի գերագույն առաջնորդը:
Խոսելով ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմական սպառնալիքների մասին՝ նա նշել է, որ հարվածելու և պատերազմ սկսելու սպառնալիքը միակողմանի խնդիր չէ, և Իրանը ունակ է պատասխան հարված հասցնել և անպայման կանի։
«Եթե Ամերիկան և նրա գործակալները սխալ քայլ կատարեն, ավելի ուժեղ հարված կստանան: Իհարկե, մենք պատերազմ չենք ցանկանում, քանի որ պատերազմը լավ բան չէ, բայց եթե ինչ-որ մեկը քայլեր ձեռնարկի, մենք վճռականորեն կպատասխանենք», - ասել է Խամենեին:
Հեղափոխության առաջնորդի խոսքով՝ ԱՄՆ-ն տնտեսության, արտաքին քաղաքականության, ներքին քաղաքականության, սոցիալական հարցերի և այլ ոլորտներում թուլանում է և չի կարող ունենալ այն հզորությունը, որն ուներ 20-30 տարի առաջ։
Անդրադառնալով Իրանի ներսում հնչող բողոքներին այն մասին, թե ինչու Թեհրանը չի նստում բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ, Այաթոլլահ Խամենեին ասել է. «Ամերիկյան կառավարության հետ բանակցությունները ոչ միայն չեն վերացնի պատժամիջոցները, այլև կհանգեցնեն պատժամիջոցների խստացման, ճնշումների ավելացման և թույլ կտա բարձրացնել նոր պահանջներ ու ավելորդություններ»։
