Սպիտակ տան ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Մայք Ուոլցը պատմել է այն պահի մասին, երբ նա ասել է «դեռևս վիճող» Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկիին, որ ժամանակն է, որ նա լքի Սպիտակ տունը՝ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ պատմականորեն վիճելի  Օվալաձև գրասենյակի հանդիպումից հետո, հայտնում է CNN-ը։

Մամուլի հեռանալուց հետո երկու կողմերը հեռացան առանձին սենյակներ, և Fox News շաբաթին տված հարցազրույցում Վալցն ասաց, որ ինքը, պետքարտուղար Մարկո Ռուբիոն և այլ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաներ «խորհուրդ են տվել նախագահին, գրեթե միաձայն խորհուրդ են տվել նրան, որ Օվալաձև աշխատասենյակում այս վիրավորանքից հետո մենք պարզապես չենք տեսնում, թե ինչպես կարող ենք առաջ շարժվել, որ այս պահից սկսած ցանկացած հետագա փոխգործակցություն միայն հակառակ ուղղությամբ կգնա»:

Ուոլցին ուղարկել են հաղորդագրություն փոխանցելու, որ Զելենսկին այլևս ընդունելի չէ։ 

Fox News-ի այն հարցին, թե արդյոք Զելենսկին գիտակցում էր, թե ինչ է տեղի ունեցել, Վալցը պատասխանել է. «Ոչ, չէր գիտակցում: Ճիշտն ասած, դա արեց նրա թիմը։ Նրա դեսպանն ու խորհրդականը գործնակորեն, նկատի ունեմ, որ նրանք գործնականում արցունքների մեջ էին, ուզում էին ամեն ինչ անել, որ գործը տեղից շարժվի: Բայց Զելենսկին դեռ վիճում էր»:

Ըստ Waltz-ի՝ նա Զելենսկիին ասել է. «Այստեղ ժամանակը ձեր կողքին չէ։ Ռազմի դաշտում ժամանակը ձեր կողքին չէ: Համաշխարհային իրավիճակի առումով ժամանակը ձեր կողքին չէ, և, որ ամենակարևորն է, ԱՄՆ օգնությունն ու հարկատուների համբերությունն անսահմանափակ չեն»:

Նա հավելել է, որ Զելենսկին «չհասկացավ, որ քաղաքում նոր շերիֆ կա։ Սա նոր նախագահ է, և մենք մտադիր ենք նոր մոտեցում ցուցաբերել աշխարհին»:
