Իսրայելը նախազգուշացրել է, որ Իրանին միջուկային զենք ստեղծելուց հետ պահելու համար «ռազմական տարբերակ» կարող է պահանջվել. երկիրն օգնություն է խնդրում ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփից՝ Իրանի նկատմամբ ճնշում գործադրելու համար, ասել է արտգործնախարար Գիդեոն Սաարը։

Բրյուսելում POLITICO-ի հետ զրույցում Սաարն ընդգծել է, որ ժամանակը սպառվում է, քանի որ Իրանը բավականաչափ ուրան է հարստացրել «մի քանի ռումբ ստեղծելու» համար և միջոցներ է որոնում՝ իր հարստացված միջուկային նյութը սպառազինության վերածելու համար: Իսկ դա, ըստ իսրայելցի պաշտոնյայի, դա ահռելի ապակայունացնող ազդեցություն կունենա Մերձավոր Արևելքի վրա:

«Ուստի մենք շատ ժամանակ չունենք»,- ասել է նա։ Սաարի խոսքով՝ թեև Իսրայելը ցանկանում է դիվանագիտական ​​ճանապարհով առաջ շարժվել, սակայն նման մոտեցման հաջողության հնարավորությունները «մեծ չեն»: Ըստ Իսրայելի ԱԳ  նախարարի՝ Իրանի միջուկային ծրագրի դադարեցման ձախողումը «աղետ կլինի Իսրայելի անվտանգության համար»:

«Կարծում եմ՝ Իրանի միջուկային ծրագրի՝ նախքան դրա սպառազինության վերածվելը, կասեցման նպատակով հուսալի ռազմական տարբերակը պետք է սեղանին դրվի»,- ասել է նա՝ պատասխանելով Թրամփի նախագահության օրոք հարվածների հնարավորության մասին հարցին։ Դա չկատարելու դեպքում «միջուկային մրցավազք կսկսի Մերձավոր Արևելքում Եգիպտոսի, Սաուդյան Արաբիայի և Թուրքիայի հետ», հավելել է նա: 

Սաարի մեկնաբանությունները համընկնում են վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուի խոստման հետ՝ Թրամփի օգնությամբ «ավարտելու գործը»՝ ձախողելու Իրանի միջուկային հավակնությունները:

Թրամփն ասել էր, որ նախընտրում է գործարք կնքել Իրանի հետ, այլ ոչ թե «ռմբակոծել», սակայն անվտանգության հարցերով նրա գլխավոր խորհրդական Մայք Ուոլցը վերջերս շեշտել էր, որ «բոլոր տարբերակները» մնում են սեղանին։
