ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Մարկ Ռյուտեն հայտարարել է, որ եվրոպացի առաջնորդները պետք է նստեն բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ, մտեն բանավեճերի մեջ և առաջարկություններ ներկայացնեն Ուկրաինային աջակցելու համար, այլ ոչ թե բողոքեն ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի գործողություններից, գրում է բրիտանական The Independent-ը։

«Միացյալ Նահանգները, ներառյալ ներկայիս վարչակազմը, բացարձակապես հավատարիմ են ՆԱՏՕ-ին, բայց կա նաև ակնկալիք, որ Եվրոպայից պետք է ուժեղացնենք մեր ջանքերը, պետք է ավելի շատ ծախսենք: Եվ նրանք իրավացի են։ «Մենք բավականաչափ ծախսեր չենք անում, ուստի ստիպված ենք դա անել»,- ասել է Ռյուտեն՝ ելույթ ունենալով Մյունխենի անվտանգության համաժողովում։

Իր հերթին, ՆԱՏՕ-ի նախկին գլխավոր քարտուղար Անդերս Ֆոգ Ռասմուսենը ենթադրել է, որ Ուկրաինայում խաղաղապահ ուժերին կարող է պահանջվել մինչև 100 հազար զինծառայող, ներառյալ՝ բրիտանացի զինվորներ:

Թրամփն ավելի վաղ կոչ էր արել ՆԱՏՕ-ի ծախսերի նպատակը հասցնել տարեկան ՀՆԱ-ի  5%-ի, մինչդեռ նման ծախսեր Հյուսիսատլանտյան ռազմական դաշինքի ոչ մի դաշնակից ներկայում չի անում: ԱՄՆ նախագահը միաժամանակ հայտարարել է, որ Ռուսաստանին կխրախուսի բավարար պաշտպանական ծախսեր չանող դաշնակիցների «գլխին ուզած օյինը խաղալ»: Բրիտանիան էլ ակնարկել է, թե ձգտում է նրան, որ ռազմական ծախսերը հասցնել  3%-ի, մինչդեռ Ռյուտեն ավելի վաղ հայտարարել էր, որ դաշնակիցներից կարող է 4% պահանջվել։
