CPJ: В 2024 году в мире было убито рекордное количество журналистов

В прошлом году во всем мире было убито рекордное число журналистов, сообщил в среду Комитет по защите журналистов (CPJ), добавив, что Израиль несет ответственность почти за 70% смертей.

По меньшей мере 124 журналиста в 18 странах погибли в 2024 году, что стало самым смертоносным годом для репортеров и работников СМИ с тех пор, как комитет начал фиксировать эти цифры более трех десятилетий назад, говорится в заявлении CPJ.

CPJ заявил, что война между Израилем и Газой привела к гибели 85 журналистов от рук израильских военных, и обвинил Израиль в попытках препятствовать расследованию инцидентов, перекладывать вину на журналистов и игнорировать свой долг по привлечению людей к ответственности за убийства.

В израильской армии, в свою очередь, заявили, что им было предоставлено недостаточно информации о предполагаемых инцидентах и что поэтому они не смогли их проверить, добавив, что они принимают все возможные оперативные меры для уменьшения ущерба журналистам и гражданским лицам.

 По данным CPJ, число журналистов и работников СМИ, убитых в 2024 году, резко возросло за последние годы - 102 человека были убиты в 2023 году и 69 - в 2022 году. Предыдущий рекордный показатель смертности был зафиксирован в 2007 году, когда погибли 113 журналистов, почти половина из них - в результате войны в Ираке, передает Reuters со ссылкой на доклад организации.
