Միլիարդատեր բարերար և աշխարհի իսմայիլականների հոգևոր առաջնորդ Աղա Խանը մահացել է 88 տարեկան հասակում, հայտնել է նրա բարեգործական կազմակերպությունը՝ Aga Khan Development Network-ը:
Արքայազն Քարիմ Աղա Խանը Իսմայիլի մահմեդականների 49-րդ ժառանգական իմամն էր: Վերջիններս պնդում են, որ Մուհամեդ մարգարեի անմիջական ժառանգներն են: Նա խաղաղությամբ մահացել է Պորտուգալիայի մայրաքաղաք Լիսաբոնում՝ շրջապատված իր ընտանիքով, ասվում է նրա բարեգործական կազմակերպության հայտարարության մեջ։
Նա ծնվել է Շվեյցարիայում, ուներ բրիտանական քաղաքացիություն և ապրում էր Ֆրանսիայի ամրոցներից մեկում։ Չարլզ թագավորը խորապես վշտացած է բարերարի մահից, որը եղել է և՛ իր, և՛ իր մոր՝ հանգուցյալ թագուհի Եղիսաբեթ Երկրորդի բարեկամը և անձնական կապ է պահպանում ընտանիքի հետ, հայտնում է BBC News-ը։
Աղա խանի բարեգործական կազմակերպությունները աջակցել են հարյուրավոր հիվանդանոցների, կրթական և մշակութային նախագծերի, հիմնականում զարգացող երկրներում: Նա շքեղ կենսակերպ էր վարում՝ Բահամյան կղզիներում սեփական կղզի, սուպերզբոսանավ և մասնավոր ինքնաթիռ ուներ:
Աղա Խանի փոխարինողի անունը, որը կդառնա նրա արական սեռի ժառանգներից մեկը, շուտով կհայտարարվի, հայտնել է Aga Khan Development Network-ը:
Իսմայիլականները շիա մահմեդական աղանդ են, որոնք մեծարում են մի քանի իմամների, ներառյալ՝ մ.թ. 765 թվականին մահացած Իմամ Իսմայիլին:
Իսմայիլականների թվաքանակն ամբողջ աշխարհում կազմում է մոտ 15 միլիոն, դրանց թվում՝ 500 հազարը՝ Պակիստանում։ Մեծ թվով իսմայիլականներ են ապրում նաև Հնդկաստանում, Աֆղանստանում և Աֆրիկայի որոշ մասերում:
