Ռուսաստանը հաղթում է ԱՄՆ-ին «Արկտիկայի համար ճակատամարտում», որն անմիջական ազդեցություն ունի ամերիկյան անվտանգության վրա։ Այս մասին գրում է The Wall Street Journal-ը։

«Ռուսաստանը հաղթում է Արկտիկայի գերիշխանության մրցավազքում... Արկտիկան երբեք ավելի թեժ չի եղել»,- ասվում է հրատարակության մեջ։

Թերթը մեջբերում է Կալգարիի համալսարանի Ռազմական, ռազմավարական և պաշտպանական հետազոտությունների կենտրոնի տնօրենի պաշտոնակատար Ռոբ Հյուբերտի խոսքերն այն մասին, որ աճող թշնամանքը Ռուսաստանին և ՆԱՏՕ-ին դրդում է վերսկսել ռազմական տեղակայումը տարածաշրջանում, քանի որ դա յուրաքանչյուր կողմին տալիս է «հսկայական տարածք»: 

Նյութը ուշադրություն է հրավիրում տարածաշրջանի կլիմայական կողմի վրա։ Նշվում է, որ Արկտիկան «ավելի արագ է տաքանում, քան այլուր»։ Քանի որ Հյուսիսային Սառուցյալ օվկիանոսի սառույցները հալչում են, բացվում են նավագնացության «նախկինում չտեսնված» հնարավորություններ, գրում է թերթը։

Ինչպես հիշեցնում է WSJ-ն, ԱՄՆ ներքին անվտանգության նախարարությունը 2023 թվականին հայտարարել է, որ Հյուսիսային սառուցյալ օվկիանոսում «ուժեղ ներկայություն» պահպանելու Ռուսաստանի կարողությունը գերազանցում է ԱՄՆ-ին, ինչը թուլացնում է ամերիկյան անվտանգությունը։
