Բուռն քննադատություններից հետո Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն այժմ էլ խեղճացել է, հավաստիացնում է, թե չի ուրացել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը։ Իշխանությունը, թերևս, չէր ակնկալում, որ Շվեյցարիայում հայ համայնքի հետ հանդիպմանը հնչած, թուրքական նարատիվներով ժխտողական հայտարարություններն այդպիսի լայն ալիք են բարձրացնելու։ «Դեռ պետք է հասկանալ՝ ինչ է տեղի ունեցել Հայոց ցեղասպանության ժամանակ, ինչու և ում միջոցով ենք ընկալել Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»,- ասել էր նա Ժնևում։

Մի քանի օր թուքումուր ուտելուց հետո, երբ Փաշինյանը հասկացել էր՝ այլևս չի կարող շարունակել նույն վտանգավոր թեզի շրջանառումը, երեկ իր մեծ ասուլիսում հավաստիացրել է, թե չի ուրանում Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը։ «Ցեղասպանության ժխտումը կամ ուրացումը, հերքումը Հայաստանում քրեական հանցագործություն է։ Ցեղասպանության փաստն անքննելի է և անժխտելի», - ասել է նա։

Վարչապետի աթոռը զավթածի հեղօղորմյան կապված է մեկ հանգամանքի հետ։ Ցեղասպանությունների կանխարգելման աշխարհահռչակ Լեմկինի ինստիտուտը հայտարարություն էր տարածել, նշել, որ Փաշինյանն իր հայտարարությամբ աջակցել է Ցեղասպանության ժխտման թուրքական ու ադրբեջանական խոսույթին։ «Նրա իմաստազուրկ հայտարարություններն անտեսում են հայերի Ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ թուրք, գերմանացի, բրիտանացի, ամերիկացի ու հայ գիտնականների, ինչպես նաև այլոց ուսումնասիրությունները, խոչընդոտ են արդարության համար շարունակվող պայքարում՝ հանուն Ցեղասպանության զոհերի, և ստեղծում են վտանգավոր տարածաշրջանային իրադրություն, հատկապես արցախցիների հանդեպ Ադրբեջանի իրականացրած ցեղասպանության ու Հայաստանի նկատմամբ սպառնալիքների համատեքստում», - նշված է աշխարհահռչակ ինստիտուտի տարածած տեքստում։

Ըստ ինստիտուտի, Փաշինյանի քայլը վտանգավոր է, «սպառնում է համարձակություն հաղորդել Հայաստանի հարևաններին՝ ընդդեմ Հայաստանի»։

Հենց այս աներկբա եզրակացությունն էլ ստիպել է Փաշինյանին փոխել իր խոսույթը, գոնե առժամանակ։ Թեպետ, Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման և դատապարտման դեմ նրա քայլերը շարունակվելու են՝ Թուրքիայի առջև իր ստանձնած պարտավորությունների շրջանակում։
