Швеция сообщила о запуске первого военного спутника связи из США

Первый шведский малый спутник связи военного назначения (GNA-3) был запущен в космос с территории США 16 августа 2024 года. Об этом сообщила канцелярия правительства Швеции.
Пуск GNA-3 и еще более 110 микроспутников с помощью ракеты-носителя Falcon 9 состоялся с военной базы США Ванденберг в штате Калифорния. Шведский аппарат управляется вооруженными силами и является «пробным проектом», предшествующим запуску других спутников, говорится в сообщении. «Это лишь первый шаг в нашем космическом путешествии, и мы с нетерпением ждем дальнейшего развития космического потенциала вооруженных сил», - сказал в связи с этим министр обороны королевства Пол Йонсон.
ВС Швеции реализовывали этот проект во взаимодействии с Шведским институтом оборонных исследований (FOI) и Шведской космической корпорацией (SSC). «Роль космоса как стратегической и оперативной сферы становится всё более очевидной для всё большего числа субъектов, включая НАТО и ЕС. Швеция обладает такими стратегическими ресурсами, как промышленный потенциал, инновационная мощь и инфраструктура, включая космическую базу Esrange в Кируне. Благодаря этому мы можем предложить уникальные возможности в качестве союзника по НАТО», - указала канцелярия.
