Кавелашвили: Грузия не должна отказываться от своей самобытности ради Европы

Грузины не хотят отказываться от своей самобытности и не должны становиться «просто европейцами». Об этом заявил президент страны Михаил Кавелашвили в интервью газете Neue Zürcher Zeitung.
«Грузин свое существование и веру связывает друг с другом. Без языка и религии Грузия не сохранилась бы. Мы немногочисленная нация, однако многообразие - наша заявка. Мы не должны отказываться от нашей самобытности и не должны быть просто европейцами», - сказал Кавелашвили.
Как отметил глава государства, как только прекратятся искусственные вмешательства в процессы в Грузии извне, в стране обязательно состоится дискуссия о том, что принесет Европа Грузии и наоборот.
В мае прошлого года парламент Грузии принял закон «О прозрачности иностранного влияния» и отношения страны с Евросоюзом и США стали ухудшаться. ЕС неоднократно призывал власти Грузии отказаться от этого закона, однако лидеры правящей партии «Грузинская мечта - Демократическая Грузия» неизменно настаивали на том, что цель закона состоит в обеспечении прозрачности финансовых потоков работающих в Грузии НПО, некоторые из которых пытались устроить в стране революцию.
