Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ծրագրողի և իրագործողի հասցեն հստակ է, ինչպես նաև ցեղասպանության պատճառները: Այս մասին հայտարարել է Մեծի Տանն Կիլիկիո կաթողիկոս Արամ Ա-ն՝ անդրադառնալով Փաշինյանի՝ Շվեյցարիայում հայ համայնքի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ հնչեցրած մտքերին, թե․ «Պետք է հասկանանք՝ ինչ է տեղի ունեցել ցեղասպանության ժամանակ։ Ինչպե՞ս ենք մենք ցեղասպանությունը ընկալել, ու՞մ միջոցով ենք ընկալել։ Ո՞նց է, որ 1939 թվին հայոց ցեղասպանության օրակարգ չի եղել, և ո՞նց է, որ 1950 թվին հայոց ցեղասպանության օրակարգ հայտնվել է»։
«Պատմագետները, ցեղասպանագետները և Օսմանյան կայսրության մասնագետները իրենց հստակ փաստերով հաստատել են Հայոց Ցեղասպանության՝ Օսմանյան կայսրության կողմից ծրագրված լինելու իրողությունը։ Չմոռանանք Հայաստանի անկախության հռչակագրի և Հայոց Ցեղասպանության 100-ամյակին համազգային հայտարարության մեջ կատարված հստակ արտահայտությունը Օսմանյան Թուրքիայի կողմից կատարված Հայոց Ցեղասպանության մասին»,-ասել է Արամ Ա-ն։
Անդրադառնալով Փաշինյանի կողմից կատարված հարցադրումներին՝ կաթողիկոսը նշել է․«Նման մոտեցումներով թշնամու ջրաղացին ջուր է լցնում։ Հայոց Ցեղասպանության քննությունը պատմաբաններին հանձնելու առաջարկը Թուրքիայի գաղափարն է: Հայոց Ցեղասպանության՝ Օսմանյան Թուրքիայի կողմից կատարելու փաստը վիճելի և քննարկման նյութ չէ, դա հաստատել են այլ պետություններն ու խորհրդարանները ևս։ Պետք է զգույշ լինել։ Ապրում ենք վտանգներով լի ժամանակշրջանում, այս աշխարհաքաղաքական պայմանները մեզ համար նպաստավոր չեն։ Ավելի քան երբևէ, այսօր առկա է ազգային ուժերի համախմբման և Հայաստանի և Սփյուռքի՝ մեկ օրակարգի շուրջ համախմբման հրամայական»:
