Կանադական տան հսկողության տեսախցիկը ֆիքսել է հազվագյուտ տեսանյութ և ձայն, թե ինչպես է երկնաքարը ընկնում Երկիր, երբ այն բախվում է զույգի տան անցուղուն, հայտնում է Associated Press-ը:

Երբ Լաուրա Քելլին և նրա զուգընկերը տուն վերադարձան երեկոյան զբոսանքից, նրանք զարմացան՝ տեսնելով, որ իրենց տան ճանապարհը ծածկված էր փոշով և տարօրինակ բեկորներով, հայտնում է Meteoritical Society-ն, որը հրապարակել է կադրերը՝ իր զեկույցի հետ միասին:

Նրանք ստուգեցին անվտանգության տեսախցիկը և տեսան, որ ինչ-որ բան հարվածել է մուտքի դռանը՝ ծխի ամպ բաց թողնելով և ճռճռոց ձայն տալով։

Զույգը հայտնել է իր գտածոյի մասին Ալբերտայի համալսարանի երկնաքարերի հաշվետվության համակարգին, իսկ համադրող Քրիս Հերդն ուսումնասիրել է բեկորների նմուշները՝ հաստատելու դրանց միջաստղային ծագումը:

Երկնաքարերը տիեզերական ժայռերի կտորներ են, որոնք ընկել են Երկիր՝ նրա կիզիչ մթնոլորտով ճամփորդությունից փրկվելուց հետո: ՆԱՍԱ-ի տվյալներով՝ ամեն օր Երկիր են ընկնում մոտ 43 տոննա (43500 կգ) նման բեկորներ, սակայն օվկիանոսում դրանց վայրէջքի հավանականությունը շատ ավելի մեծ է, քան այն՝ ինչ-որ մեկի պատշգամբում:

Տիեզերական ժայռերը նույնպես ընկնում են գիշերային երկինք՝ որպես նետվող աստղեր երկնաքարերի տեղատարափների ժամանակ, որոնք տեղի են ունենում տարին մի քանի անգամ։

Հուլիսին արված կադրերը համարվում են առաջինը։ Թեև տեսախցիկները կարող են ֆիքսել երկնքում գծավոր երկնաքարեր, հազվադեպ է տեսագրության վրա ֆիքսել երկնաքարի ամբողջական անկման ձայնը:

Երկուշաբթի օրը պաշտոնապես գրանցված տիեզերական քարը կոչվել է Շառլոտթաուն՝ ի պատիվ Կանադայի արևելյան Արքայազն Էդվարդ կղզու քաղաքի, որտեղ այն ընկել է:
