Միջազգային իրավապաշտպան Amnesty International կազմակերպության Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տնօրեն Մարի Ստրութերսն, արձագանքելով Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի նախկին պետնախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի դատավարության մեկնարկին, հայտարարել  է, որ Ադրբեջանը պետք է պաշտպանի և ապահովի Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի արդար դատաքննության իրավունքները։

Այս մասին նշված է կազմակերպության կայքում տարածված հաղորդագրության մեջ։

«Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները պնդում են, որ Ռուբեն Վարդանյանին դատարանի առջև են կանգնեցրել՝ պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու այն հանցագործությունների համար, որոնցում նրան մեղադրում են։ Բայց նրան զրկելով արդար դատաքննության իրավունքներից՝ նրանք արդարադատության ճիշտ հակառակն են անում։ Իշխանությունները պետք է պաշտպանեն և ապահովեն Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի արդար դատաքննության իրավունքները»,-նշել է Մարի Ստրութերսը։ 

Նա հավելել է, որ Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը լուրջ մեղադրանքներ է բարձրաձայնել մարդու իրավունքների խախտումների մասին, այդ թվում՝ կալանքի ժամանակ վատ վերաբերմունքը, կեղծված գործի նյութերը ստորագրելու հարկադրանքը և պաշտպանությունը նախապատրաստելու հնարավորությունից զրկումը։ 

«Իշխանությունները պետք է անհապաղ, մանրակրկիտ, անկախ, անաչառ և արդյունավետ կերպով հետաքննեն այս ծանր մեղադրանքները և պատասխանատվության ենթարկեն նրանց, ովքեր համարվում են այս ամենի պատասխանատուներ»,-նշված է տարածված հայտարարության մեջ:

Նրա դիտարկմամբ՝ Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները պետք է Ռուբեն Վարդանյանին տրամադրեն լիարժեք հասանելիություն իր փաստաբանների հետ շփման, ինչպես նաև բավականաչափ ժամանակ ու հնարավորություն՝ պաշտպանությունը նախապատրաստելու համար:

«Միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է ուշադրությամբ հետևի այս աղմկահարույց գործին՝ Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի արդար դատաքննության իրավունքն ու արդարադատությունն ապահովելու համար»,-նշել է Amnesty International կազմակերպության Արևելյան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տնօրեն Մարի Ստրութերսը։

Ադրբեջանն ապօրինի ձերբակալել և շինծու մեղադրանքներ է առաջադրել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի նախկին նախագահներ Արկադի Ղուկասյանին, Բակո Սահակյանին, Արայիկ Հարությունյանին, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Ազգային ժողովի պաշտոնը զբաղեցրած Դավիթ Իշխանյանին, արտաքին գործերի նախկին նախարար Դավիթ Բաբայանին, Պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Լևոն Մնացականյանին, Պաշտպանության նախարարի նախկին տեղակալ Դավիթ Մանուկյանին, նախկին պետնախարար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանին։ 

Կեղծ մեղադրանքներ են առաջադրվել նաև Վասիլի Բեգլարյանին, Էրիկ Ղազարյանին, Դավիթ Ալահվերդյանին, Գուրգեն Ստեփանյանին, Լևոն Բալայանին, Մադաթ Բաբայանին, Գարիկ Մարտիրոսյանին, Մելիքսեթ Փաշայանին։ 

Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի նկատմամբ շինծու քրեական գործն անջատվել է մյուսների գործից, դատաքննությունն անցկացվել է առանձին։ 

Թե Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի, թե մյուս շինծու մեղադրյալների գործով դատական նիստն անցկացվել է հունվարի 17-ին։  Վարդանյանի նկատմամբ դատական հաջորդ նիստը կկայանա հունվարի 27-ին, իսկ մյուս մեղադրյալաների նկատմամբ դատական նիստը տեղի կունենա հունվարի 21-ին։
