Быстрое исследование причин лесных пожаров в Калифорнии, проведенное компанией Clinometer, показало, что антропогенное изменение климата сыграло свою роль в разрушительных пожарах, которые до сих пор бушуют в округе Лос-Анджелес.

В отчете говорится, что метеорологические условия в районе, пострадавшем от пожаров, стали на 5°C теплее, на 15% суше и на 20% ветренее по сравнению с прошлым годом.

«Мы объясняем усиление ветра, повышение температуры и засушливые условия, вызвавшие лесные пожары в Калифорнии в январе 2025 года, антропогенным изменением климата, а естественная изменчивость климата, вероятно, сыграла незначительную роль», - говорится в отчете. В целом, за последние 10 лет в Калифорнии произошло 15 из 20 наиболее разрушительных лесных пожаров, включая  пожары  Палисейдс и Итон.

Предупреждение об особо опасной ситуации (PDS) действует до среды — это второе подобное предупреждение за неделю и третье за месяц, выпущенное офисом Национальной метеорологической службы в Лос-Анджелесе. Ожидается, что пик самых сильных ветров будет с 4 часов утра по местному времени (7 часов утра по восточному времени) завтра до полудня среды.

Районы с наибольшей пожарной опасностью: Санта-Кларита, Сан-Фернандо, Сими-Вэлли, Вентура, Малибу, Пеппердайн.
