Associated Press-ը երկու ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաների վկայակոչմամբ հաղորդում է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը մտադիր է Ուկրաինային տրամադրել 500 միլիոն դոլարի զենք, որը արագորեն կվերցվի առկա պաշարներից, քանի որ ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի վարչակազմը աշխատում է ամրապնդել Կիևի դիրքերը բանակցություններում՝ մինչև ընտրյալ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կողմից պաշտոնի ստանձնումը։
Ակնկալվում է, որ այս հայտարարությունը կարվի ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինի վերջին այցի ընթացքում՝ Ուկրաինայի պաշտպանության հարցերով կոնտակտային խմբի հանդիպման ժամանակ։ Խումբը մոտ 50 գործընկեր երկրների կոնսորցիում է, որը Օսթինը հավաքել էր 2022թ. փետրվարին Ուկրաինայում պատերազմի սկսվելուց մի քանի ամիս անց՝ զենքերի աջակցությունը համակարգելու համար։ Հինգշաբթի օրը կայանալիք հանդիպումը 25-րդն է և, հավանաբար, ԱՄՆ-ի գլխավորությամբ խմբի վերջին հանդիպումը, քանի որ մասնակից երկրները չգիտեն, թե արդյոք այն կշարունակվի Թրամփի օրոք։
«Մենք կկենտրոնանանք դինամիկան պահպանելու, արդյունքների հասնելու և հստակ ազդանշան ուղարկելու վրա. միջազգային հանրությունը վճռականորեն աջակցում է Ուկրաինային»,- ասել է Օսթինը իրեն ուղեկցող լրագրողներին:
Մինչ օրս՝ Ռուսաստանի ներխուժումից գրեթե երեք տարի անց, ԱՄՆ-ը Ուկրաինային շուրջ 66.5 միլիարդ դոլարի զինական օգնություն է տրամադրել:
Ներկայումս Կոնգրեսի կողմից հաստատված Ուկրաինայի ֆինանսավորումից մնացել է 4 միլիարդ դոլարից քիչ պակաս գումար, և ակնկալվում է, որ այս գումարի մեծ մասը կփոխանցվի Թրամփի վարչակազմին՝ զենքի աջակցությունը շարունակելու վերաբերյալ որոշում կայացնելու համար:
