Քրեական ոստիկանության Լոռու մարզային վարչությունում հետախուզման մեջ գտնվող տղամարդու գտնվելու վայրի վերաբերյալ օպերատիվ տեղեկություններ էին ստացվել: Ըստ տեղեկությունների՝ հետախուզվողը տվյալ պահին գտնվում էր Ճոճկան բնակավայրի 1-ին փողոցի տներից մեկի մոտ:
Իրացնելով օպերատիվ տեղեկությունները՝ վարչության և Համայնքային ոստիկանության Թումանյանի բաժնի ծառայողները մեկնել են Ճոճկան: Նշված տան մուտքի մոտ կանգնած տղամարդը, ներկայանալով որպես տանտիրոջ ազգական, ոստիկաններին հայտնել է, որ ինքը բնակվում է նույն հասցեում, իսկ տանտերը բացակայում է: Նա ոստիկաններին ուղեկցել է տուն՝ հայտնելով, որ տանը հետախուզվող չկա: Բացել է նաև կից նկուղի դուռը: Ստուգման ժամանակ ոստիկանները նկուղի տեսանելի հատվածներում նկատել են ապակյա տարաներ՝ լցված կանեփանման չորացված-մանրացված զանգվածներով:
Տղամարդը ձերբակալվել և տեղափոխվել է Թումանյանի բաժին, ապա կազմված փաստաթղթերի հետ ներկայացվել քննչական բաժին: Նախաձեռնվել է քրեական վարույթ, որի շրջանակում կատարված զննությամբ նշված տան նկուղի տարբեր հատվածներում հայտնաբերվել են ընդհանուր 12,6 կգ չորացված-մանրացված կանեփի նմանվող զանգված և կանեփի 43 չորացված ցողուն:
