Ծննդյան տոներին տուն վերադարձող մարդկանցով գերծանրաբեռնված լաստանավը շրջվել է Կոնգոյի հյուսիս-արևելքում գտնվող Բուսիրա գետում, ինչի հետևանքով զոհվել է 38 մարդ, ավելի քան 100-ը՝ անհետ կորել է, հայտնում է Associated Press-ը։
Լաստանավն ընթացել է այլ նավերի շարասյան կազմում, և ուղևորները հիմնականում առևտրականներ էին, որոնք Ծննդյան տոնի առիթով տուն էին վերադառնում, հայտնել է Ինգենդեի քաղաքապետ Ջոզեֆ Կանգոլինգոլին:
Ըստ Ինգենդեի բնակիչ Նդոլո Կադիի, «լաստանավում ավելի քան 400 մարդ կար, քանի որ այն դեպի Բոյենդե ճանապարհին երկու նավահանգիստ է մտել՝ Ինգենդե և Լուլո, ուստի հիմքեր կան ենթադրելու, որ ավելի շատ զոհեր կան»:
Այս պահի դրությամբ հաջողվել է փրկել 20 մարդու։
Ուրբաթ ուշ երեկոյան լաստանավի խորտակումը տեղի է ունեցել գրեթե չորս օր այն բանից հետո, երբ հյուսիս-արևելքում մեկ այլ նավ է շրջվել, ինչի հետևանքով զոհվել է 25 մարդ:
