США выслали за 2024 финансовый год 271 тыс. мигрантов

Иммиграционная и таможенная служба США (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE) депортировала более 270 тыс. мигрантов за финансовый год, закончившийся 30 сентября. Об этом говорится в отчете ведомства.
Сотрудники иммиграционной службы выслали 271 484 мигранта в 192 страны — это почти вдвое больше, чем в 2023 году (142 580 человек). Кроме того, 32,7% (88 763 тыс. мигрантов) имели криминальное прошлое. Показатель депортаций стал самым высоким с 2014 финансового года: в тот год из страны были выдворены почти 316 тыс. мигрантов.
В ноябре газета The New York Times писала, что мигранты, находящиеся в Соединенных Штатах, готовятся к массовой депортации, которую они ожидают после вступления в должность победившего на выборах президента Дональда Трампа в январе.
