Ակնհայտ է, որ թուրքական վերնախավը գործի է դրել նոր թուրքական կայսրություն ստեղծելու վաղեմի ծրագիրը, լրագրողների հետ զրույցում հայտարարեց ՀՀԿ անդամ Էդուարդ Շարմազանովը։

Նա նշեց, որ թուրքական  փորձագետները չեն բացառում «Զանգեզուրի միջանցք» օպերացիայի իրականացումը.«Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հույսը դրել է Էրդողանի ողորմածության վրա։ Իրեն թվում է, որ  Էրդողանի գիրքը պինդ սեղմի կրծքին և Ռուբեն Ռուբինյանին հաճախ ուղարկի բանագնացների հետ հանդիպման, ամեն ինչ նորմալ կլինի։ Ինքը, սակայն, չի հիշում այլ մարդկանց ճակատագրեր, օրինակ՝ Գրիգոր Զոհրապինը։ Նա Թալեաթ Փաշայի հետ ունեցել է եղբայրական հարաբերություններ և նույնիսկ, ըստ ականատեսների, նրա կատաղի սպանությունից մեկ օր առաջ Զոհրապը Թալեաթի հետ նարդի է խաղացել։

Անդրադառնալով սիրիական ճգնաժամին՝ Շարմազանովը նշեց․ «Յուրաքանչյուր պետության համար պետք է կռվի իր բանակը, եթե իր բանակը չի կռվում, ոչ մի դաշնակից իրեն չի փրկի, եթե Փաշինյանը Սև լճի 30 տոկոսի համար չի կռվում, 200 քկմ չի ուզում հետ բերել, ո՛չ ռուսը, ո՛չ էլ իրանցին չեն գալու ու կռվեն։ Եթե տեսնում են, որ երկրի ղեկավարը չի պատրաստվում կռվի իր տարածքների համար, ամերիկացին ու ռուսը գան մեզ համար պատերազմե՞ն․․․ »։
