Трамп выдвинул инвестора Баррака на пост посла США в Турции

Избранный президент США Дональд Трамп выдвинул во вторник инвестора Томаса Баррака на должность американского посла в Турции.
«Я с радостью объявляю, что Том Баррак будет нашим следующим послом в Турции. На протяжении трех десятилетий Том успешно руководил частной инвестиционной компанией», - написал Трамп на своей странице в социальной сети Truth Social. Он отметил, что Баррак обладает нужным опытом, и что его уважают как в политических, так и в деловых кругах.
Баррак - основатель инвестиционной компании Colony Capital, близкий друг Трампа и бывший председатель его инаугурационного комитета. Летом 2021 года ему были предъявлены обвинения в сговоре с целью влияния на внешнюю политику Трампа и лоббировании интересов ОАЭ. В ноябре 2022 года суд признал Баррака невиновным по всем пунктам.
