Евросоюз призвал все заинтересованные стороны принять участие в мирном переходе власти в Сирии

Евросоюз выступил с заявлением по ситуации в Сирии, в котором призвал все заинтересованные стороны принять участие  во всеобъемлющем, возглавляемом сирийцами и принадлежащем сирийцам диалоге по всем ключевым вопросам для обеспечения упорядоченного, мирного и инклюзивного перехода.

«Сейчас, как никогда ранее, необходимо, чтобы все заинтересованные стороны участвовали во всеобъемлющем, возглавляемом сирийцами и принадлежащем сирийцам диалоге по всем ключевым вопросам для обеспечения упорядоченного, мирного и инклюзивного перехода в духе резолюции 2254 Совета Безопасности ООН и в соответствии с волей сирийского народа. В этом контексте мы решительно поддерживаем текущую работу Специального посланника ООН по Сирии Гейра Педерсена, используя все соответствующие инструменты ЕС.

В этот критический период Европейский союз поддерживает сирийский народ и остается в тесном контакте с партнерами в регионе и ключевыми международными партнерами», - говорится в заявлении ЕС.

Кроме того блок настоятельно призывает обеспечить защиту представителей всех меньшинств, «в том числе христианских и других конфессий, не входящих в большинство, а также безопасность иностранных граждан и уважение дипломатических представительств в Дамаске».

«Мы также призываем все стороны защищать богатое культурное наследие Сирии и религиозные памятники», - говорится в заявлении ЕС.
