JAMA Network Open ամսագրում հրապարակված նոր ուսումնասիրությունը ցույց է տալիս, որ ապագա մայրերը, որոնք հավասարակշռված սննդակարգով են սնվում, մեծ հավանականությամբ, առողջ քաշով, ավելի կայուն հասակով և հետագա կյանքում ճարպակալման նվազ հավանականությամբ երեխաներ են ունենում։
Գիտնականները հետևել են ավելի քան 28 հարյուր մայր-մանուկ զույգերի՝ չափելով նախածննդյան սննդի և մինչև 24 ամսական երեխայի աճի որակը:
Այն մայրերը, որոնք հետևել են ԱՄՆ-ի գյուղատնտեսության նախարարության սննդային ուղեցույցներին, 12 տոկոսով հազվադեպ են իրենց գեստացիոն տարիքի համար խոշոր երեխաներ ծնել, և նրանց մանուկների մոտ ավելի հազվադեպ է արագ աճ նկատվել 6 և 24 ամսականում:
Հակաբորբոքային սննդակարգին հետևելը նույնպես կապված է եղել ծննդյան պահին քաշի ավելացման հավանականության նվազման հետ, սակայն ոչ միանշանակ ազդեցություն է ունեցել հետագա աճի վրա:
