Mattel-ի պաշտոնական կայքում դասական Բարբիների հետ արդեն իրենց տեղն են զբաղեցրել 2 նոր տիկնիկներ: Նրանցից մեկը plus-size չափի է՝ գիրուկ, երկրորդը բարեկազմ է, ոչ բարձրահասակ, երրորդը՝ բարձրահասակ ու լայն ուսերով:
Բարբին միշտ քննադատվել է, քանի որ ասվում է,որ այն բացասաբար է ազդում դեռահասների իդեալների վրա:
